The most beautiful poems in Chengde

The summer resort has the most peculiar scenery. It looks east on the magic ridge.

Luohan Mountain is well known, and Hammer Peak is not empty.

Toad Stone is located in the south, facing the heat flow before Dehui.

The cockscomb hangs on the third day of the month in thousands of feet, and the monk's hat is full of clouds.

Immortals hide the Chaoyang Twin Towers, and Ganoderma lucidum grows in the Yuanbao Cave.

As a Chengde person, I may not have been to eight counties and three districts, nor will I have been to the top ten famous mountains outside the villa. But if you ask me what is the most famous scenery in Chengde, I can recite this poem to you smoothly. The poem Ten Scenes of Jehol is widely circulated in Chengde. Summer resort, Fengmo Mountain, Luohan Mountain, Hammer Peak, Toad Stone, Jehol Spring, Jiguan Peak, Sanguanmao, Shuangta Mountain and Yuanbaoshan are the top ten scenic spots handed down in Chengde. This poem is almost unknown in Chengde.

So who is the author of this poem?

Some people say that the author of this poem is Emperor Qianlong, which is obviously untrue. First, the poems written by Qianlong in Chengde are complete, and there is no record of this poem at all. Second: Judging from the meter and writing style, this poem is not like the creation of Emperor Qianlong who is good at rhetoric.

Ren Jifeng stayed at 1.862 and died at 1.933. He is from Shanzihou Village, Pingquan County. He was once the general manager in Pingquan, the principal of agriculture and forestry, and educated in Jehol Normal School.

Legend has it that Ren Jifeng went to Chengde to teach. He summed up ten common and well-known scenic spots in Chengde into ten poems, named "Ten Scenes of Chengde", which were written on a piece of paper and posted on the wall for students to recite. In this way, he taught word induction. I didn't expect this poem to be handed down and become a household name.

According to the historical data and the records in Changxuan Poetry Draft, Ren Jifeng's arrival time in Chengde should be between 1880- 1890.

An article written by Bunia Alin, a famous scholar in Chengde, on 1 in April 1992 described "Ten Scenes of Jehol":

Bunia Alin's article is concise and eloquent. This poem was circulated in Tongzhi period (1862- 1874), and Ren Jifeng's creation theory was shattered. To sum up, the earliest recorded poem is the banner of Ten Scenes of Jehol written by Kuilin in Tongzhi period.

Many doubts are made by modern people who admire the literary talent and rhetoric of the ancients. We all hope that history can give all events a clear context and endless imagination in the mystery of expectation. Ten Scenes of Jehol, a well-known poem, was written not later than Tongzhi period in Qing Dynasty, or even earlier, but who was its original author became a beautiful literary mystery after all.

Professor Qi Jingzhi of Chengde Normal University once analyzed that this poem may be a folk ballad, and then it was produced through the processing and creation of literati. Now it seems that this statement is the most convincing. This poem not only contains the simple background of the people, but also contains the elegant decoration of the literati. It is a sincere compliment to the wonderful mountains and beautiful waters of the mountain city beyond the Great Wall at the foot of Yanshan Mountain!
