Tang Dynasty: Du Fu
"Two orioles sing green willows, and egrets cover the sky."
My window framed the snow-covered western hills. My door often says "goodbye" to ships sailing eastward.
Two orioles sang softly among the green willows, and a neat team of egrets went straight into the blue sky. Sitting by the window, you can see the snow accumulated all the year round on Xiling Mountain, and ships from Dongwu, thousands of miles away, are parked in front of the door.
Extended data
This poem, like Meng Haoran, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, "I wake up easily in the early morning of spring", depicts the beautiful scenery of spring morning. In the morning, Du Fu woke up in the twittering of birds. He looked inside. On the green willow outside, two lovely little orioles are playing games while dancing.
It seems to be shouting: "Spring is coming, spring is coming, come out and play, don't sleep", which is really interesting. The poet looked up at the blue sky again. There are no clouds in the sky. The sky is like a transparent sapphire, very beautiful. In the distance, a group of egrets lined up, flapping their wings and flying slowly across the blue sky. It's beautiful, Du Fu thought.
He came up with these two poems: two orioles singing green willows and a row of egrets flying into the sky. He turned around, and the mountains in the west sparkled under the blue sky. It turns out that the snow in winter has piled up on the top of the mountain before it melts, as if wearing a white hat on a sharp hill.
He walked out of the room slowly. The sunshine is warm and comfortable. He walked to the river. There are several big ships in the river. The boatmen are busy, raising huge sails and preparing to sail to Soochow thousands of miles away. Spring has arrived, and a year's work is ready to start again. This is what people often say, "A year's plan lies in spring".
