Sonnet, a European lyric poem, is transliterated as "Shang Lai style" and originated from the Proven?al language Sonnet. At first, it generally refers to short poems popular among people in the Middle Ages, accompanied by singing and musical instruments. The Italian medieval "Sicilian School" poet Jacopo da Lentini was the first literati to use this poetic form and give it a strict meter.
