The Guiding Outline of Kindergarten Education (Trial) clearly points out that kindergartens should keep close contact with families and communities and make full use of various resources to provide conditions for the healthy and all-round development of children. Based on this, more and more kindergartens turn their attention to families and communities, and actively use all available resources to serve the development of kindergartens. Among them, making full use of parents' resources and introducing parents' volunteers has become an important task for most kindergartens. As a "fresh force" in kindergarten development, parents' volunteers have made important contributions to kindergarten development and family education, but at the same time, how to make better use of them has become a problem worth discussing.

What is the value of kindergarten parent volunteers?

With the deepening of home cooperation and the development of parent volunteer activities, we are more and more aware of the important value of parent volunteers to children, parents and kindergartens.

For children, the participation of parents and volunteers in teaching activities, as an effective form of family interaction, improves the "teacher-student ratio" to a certain extent, and children can get more attention. In addition, parents' intervention has also expanded children's cognitive experience and social communication ability to a certain extent.

For parents, participating in their children's study and life clarifies their responsibilities in early childhood education. Parents volunteers have paid time and energy, but they are also beneficiaries. They not only know the information of children in the park, but also have more opportunities to learn scientific parenting knowledge and ideas and improve their educational ability and methods.

For kindergartens, parent volunteers are also of great significance. Because parents' personality, temperament, behavior and cultural accomplishment are all educational resources worthy of development and utilization, their participation enriches the connotation of kindergarten. Through parents entering the kindergarten and participating in activities at zero distance, the educational concept of the kindergarten is recognized and the home cooperation is more tacit. At the same time, in the process of participating in activities, parents and teachers can fully communicate, inspire each other and learn from each other, and teachers also gain knowledge outside their majors.

What kind of parents can be volunteers?

Due to the high mobility of parent volunteers, we organize a parent volunteer recruitment activity every academic year. Through investigation and classification, our park roughly divides parent volunteers into the following categories:

First of all, parents with certain professional knowledge or skills, such as lawyers and doctors, can provide professional knowledge so that their children can acquire knowledge and skills in a certain field. For example, it is very difficult for middle-class children to learn to bat, so we invite your mother, who is a primary school physical education teacher, to play ball with the children as a parent volunteer. By "playing" the ball, the boring racket ball becomes interesting. After several times, most children learned to bat the ball. Another example is that children like to drink. Through the "Secrets in Drinks" activity, doctor and mother Doudou brought professional health care knowledge, vividly telling children that drinks contain additives such as pigments and cyclamate, which are harmful to physical development. Children who used to like drinking drinks gradually fell in love with drinking boiled water.

Secondly, parents are associated with some social resources, such as firefighters, armed police, hairdressers and so on. Every semester, we will invite the mother or father of a fireman to the kindergarten to explain the fire protection knowledge to the children and help them master simple self-protection skills. Every year, the children in the big class will follow the armed police father into the military camp, learn about the life and training of the armed police, and sprout patriotic enthusiasm from childhood. When this corner was created, parents and volunteers invited their children to visit the barber shop and cake shop where they worked, to experience the scene and process of their work and accumulate life experience. ...

Then there are parents with rich life experience and outstanding life skills, such as the old Red Army and grandma who can knit sweaters. They tell their own stories and show their skills, which is a kind of spiritual inspiration and enlightenment for children.

What do parents volunteers do in kindergarten?

Parents' voluntary service is a new mode of home cooperation, but it is also a very complicated and arduous task. Therefore, it is particularly important for kindergartens to make good use of parent volunteers.

In kindergartens, parents and volunteers are engaged in various jobs, such as security escort, activity assistant, education and publicity. , but simply put, they mainly include the following categories:

First, participate in the management of kindergartens. Parent volunteers have become an indispensable part of kindergarten management. In our kindergarten, parents and volunteers, as consultants of the kindergarten, provide opinions when making the development plan of the kindergarten, participate in the evaluation of the teaching staff and kindergarten, and participate in the budget and personnel decision-making. For example, the diet of young children is the most concerned issue for every parent. Every month, parents' volunteers are invited to participate in the committee to announce the use of food expenses to parents, listen to their opinions on food, and adopt good recipes provided by enthusiastic parents, which are welcomed and recognized by parents. In addition, family committees, parents' lectures, parents' salons and parents' interviews in our kindergarten are all effective measures for parents to participate in kindergarten management. The book lending room in kindergarten is also managed by parents and volunteers. Every Friday morning, the whole park carries out book borrowing activities, and sorts out all kinds of books in the afternoon.

Secondly, participate in kindergarten teaching activities. Parent teaching assistants have injected fresh blood into kindergarten education activities. In order to effectively integrate educational resources and give play to the role of parents' volunteers in early childhood education, our park has carried out the activities of parents' teaching assistants. For example, teachers' parents give their children classes, doctors' parents give them health education, police's parents explain the methods of self-protection, and chefs' parents lead their children to cook well. In addition, some parents also serve as teaching AIDS when their children go out for activities and physical exercise, while others help teachers make exquisite teaching AIDS. On the one hand, parents' teaching assistants enrich the educational resources of kindergartens, on the other hand, they also let parents know the requirements of kindergarten education and the children's own needs, which really improves the effect of home cooperation.

Third, parents and volunteers help parent-child activities. In order to enhance parent-child relationship and realize parent-child interaction, parent volunteers organize or participate in parent-child activities suitable for all ages, types and levels every semester, such as festivals, social practice activities, patriotic education activities, outings and so on.

Finally, and most importantly, parents volunteers play the role of propagandists of scientific early childhood education concepts. At present, some parents still have some deviations in their understanding of early childhood education. Parents volunteers can pass on the scientific education concept of kindergartens to more people by participating in the work of kindergartens. In our garden, we can often see parents and volunteers taking their children to do environmental protection propaganda, book drifting activities, civilized etiquette persuasion and so on. Some parents have made clear our concept of running the park and the hierarchical structure of teachers before their children enter the park, and later they learned it through parent volunteers.

How to protect the rights and interests of parents and volunteers

Parents' rights and interests should also be properly protected when they volunteer to go to kindergarten. In the practice of parents' voluntary service, we found that some parents showed some worries or dissatisfaction with volunteer work. For example, some parents report that volunteer activities are too frequent and take a long time, which increases the burden on parents. Some parents feel that parents' volunteer activities do not play the unique role of volunteers, but only act as "labor".

Based on this, we have changed some working ideas of voluntary service to ensure that parents volunteers not only pay, but also gain more.

First of all, for parents' volunteer activity time, we adopt the strategy of combining opportunity with opportunity. We arrange regular volunteer activities for those who have enough time or full-time volunteers. For working parents, in order to provide them with opportunities for service, we flexibly agree with them on the time of activities, so that they can actively participate in activities without delaying their work. We also arrange parents' volunteer service time reasonably according to the types of activities. For example, when parents enter the classroom, the service time of parents is about half an hour, while for some celebrations, the service time of volunteers is controlled within two hours as far as possible.

Secondly, according to the requirements of parents, try to meet the interests of parents when arranging volunteer work. For example, invite parents who have special skills and can make up for the shortcomings of teachers; Celebrations such as Double Ninth Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival and Spring Festival need parents' voluntary service. We tell parents in advance which positions are needed, and parents voluntarily sign up. At the same time, when arranging work, we broke the convention of letting parents "do chores", but regarded them as partners, let them participate in the activity planning, and let parents realize their rapid personal growth while volunteering.
