China's traditional poetry talks focus on textual research, involving the author's life, version, textual research, revision and other contents, and lack of theoretical construction. Western poetics has paid attention to theoretical construction since ancient Greece, and it is more philosophical speculation and life thinking, but it is often divorced from reality. In fact, the former is more like China's learning in the Han Dynasty, while the latter is more like the learning in the Song Dynasty. The former emphasizes demonstration while the latter emphasizes speculation.
In today's academic research, textual research and theory often belong to different disciplines, and it is difficult to integrate. If we can combine them, it would be a more rigorous academic research method at that time.
