Creation background
Su Shi moved from Huangzhou (now Huanggang, Hubei) to Ruzhou (now Linru, Henan) in the seventh year of Zongshen Yuanfeng (1084). When I went to Ruzhou, I passed through Jiujiang and visited Lushan Mountain with my friends. The magnificent landscape triggered a vigorous and magnificent idea, so I wrote several poems about Lushan Mountain. The title Xilin Wall is a summary after visiting Lushan Mountain. According to the chronology of Mr. Dongpo, who lived in the Southern Song Dynasty, we can know that this poem was written in May of the seventh year of Yuanfeng.
