Zhangping is an important part of the revolutionary base area in western Fujian and belongs to the scope of the Central Soviet Area. 65438+On February 22nd, 2006, the Party History Research Office of the Central Committee officially confirmed that Zhangping was an important part of the Central Soviet Area and the revolutionary base area in western Fujian during the Agrarian Revolutionary War, which restored the true colors of Zhangping's history.

Zhangping is one of the counties in Fujian Province that launched revolutionary struggle earlier. As early as 19 19, a group of patriotic intellectuals in Zhangping actively participated in the May 4th Movement and spread the truth of Marxism-Leninism. During the Great Revolution, Zhangping achieved the first state-to-state cooperation, established county farmers' associations, county trade unions, county women's departments and other revolutionary groups, and launched a workers' and peasants' movement in full swing. During the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the bonfire of the revolution quickly triggered a prairie fire on this land. From the birth of the first local party organization in 1928 to the end of the three-year guerrilla war in 1937, two guerrilla zones, Yannanzhang and Yanlianning, were established within the jurisdiction. Established more than 10 party organizations at the county level and below in Nanzhang County Committee of Zhongyan; The Chinese Soviet Union and the military and political committee of Nanzhang County in Yan Guo and the Soviet regime were established in 15 district and 100 villages; More than 60 revolutionary armed forces at all levels, such as the County Independent Guerrilla Brigade, Zhangping Red Second Regiment and Yannan Zhang Guerrilla, have been established, and nearly 6,000 people have joined the regular army, the Red Army Guerrilla and the Red Guards, and more than 0/5,000 farmers have been developed to fight local tyrants and divide fields in an organized way. The Red Army, including the Red Fourth Army, the Red Twelfth Army, the Red 21st Army, the Red Eighth Regiment and the Hong Jiu Regiment, all fought bloody battles at this strategic frontier. Zhangping thus undertook the arduous task of consolidating the revolutionary base area in western Fujian and guarding the east gate of the Central Soviet Area, and was worthy of the heroic title of "outpost". Since then, the people of Zhangping have experienced the baptism of eight years of anti-Japanese war and three years of liberation war, and have always advanced wave after wave, winning the reputation of "the red flag will not fall".

In the magnificent revolutionary struggle years, Zhu De, Luo Ronghuan, Tan Zhenlin, Su Yu, Deng Zihui, Zhang Dingcheng and Guo Didi, the older generation proletarian revolutionaries of our party and army, Fang Fang, Guo Huaruo, Wei Jinshui, Wu Hongxiang, Wang Zhi, Li Dean, Xiong Zhaoren and other old generals and the old Red Army all fought and lived in Zhangping, leaving a glorious revolutionary footprint.

After the founding of New China, various departments in the old liberated areas identified 3/kloc-0 revolutionary base villages, 48 key old liberated areas and 36 revolutionary old liberated areas in Zhangping. At the same time, they confirmed that the proportion of villages and towns in the old liberated areas is 100%, and the population of the old liberated areas accounts for 90% of the total population, belonging to the first-class old counties (cities) in China, fully affirming the glorious revolutionary history of the old liberated areas in Zhangping.
