What is Shen Songti?

"Song Shen" is the collective name of Shen Quanqi and Song, the court poets of Wu Hou in the early Tang Dynasty. The May 7th style poems they created show that the May 7th style poems have tended to be stereotyped. At that time, the so-called "Shen Songti" refers to the five-character or seven-character metrical poems standardized by Shen, the content of which is mostly a waiter system, and the attendants have a banquet, but the form is neat, even and harmonious, and the words are exquisite. Representative works such as Shen's Banquet System in Xian 'e Pavilion (Five Laws), Banquet System in Linzhi Temple (Five Laws), Banquet System in Nanzhuang, Princess Taiping in Wind and Lotus Spring (Seven Laws) and so on.

The main contribution of Shen Songti lies in shaping the system of regular poetry in Tang Dynasty. Since the early Tang dynasty, the trend of legalizing poetry and paying attention to parallelism has been developing day by day. Even in the Yongming style initiated by Nanqi and Xie Tiao, Shen Quanqi, Song and others developed from emphasizing four tones to only distinguishing flat tones, from denying the theory of "eight diseases" to affirming flat tones, and then from the original syllable coordination of only one sentence to full flat tones, thus forming a complete flat tone with strict rules to follow. They not only shaped the five-law system, but also standardized the seven-law system, and were gradually accepted by ordinary poets through their own creative practice. Their historic achievement has been fully affirmed by predecessors. Dugu and the Preface to the Collection of Huangfu Gong think that "when Shen Zhan and Song Laogong made contributions, they started to cut six laws, show five colors, and make the words harmonious and melodious, which is the best preparation." Yuan Zhen, a member of the Ministry of Industry in the Tang Dynasty, also pointed out in Preface to Du Jun's Tomb: "Those who learn from the times and keep steady are called regular poems. Since then, the style has changed greatly. " Of course, what is more often inspired by later generations is a passage in the Book of the New Tang Dynasty and the Biography of the Song Dynasty: "Since Ann was in Jiangzuo, her poetic rhythm has changed repeatedly. For Shen Yue and Yu Xin, the rhyme is graceful and graceful, and the ending rhyme is accurate. When it comes to asking for mourning, it adds beauty. When it comes to avoiding voice diseases, it is accurate to make sentences, such as splendid writing and loyal scholars. The number is' Song Shen'. "If Avoidance of Sound Diseases only inherits Shen Yue's theory of" Four Sounds and Eight Diseases ",then Shuowen Jiezi belongs to their development and creation.

Shen was a great master at that time, but his poems were not satisfactory. Even those works written on the road of relegation are nothing more than lamenting the poverty of the old people. In art, apart from strict temperament and skillful workmanship, they are only good at rich and beautiful words, which is not enough to create a new style for a generation.
