"By Tintern Abbey" was written by Wordsworth during the Romantic period.
This was written by the poet when he revisited his hometown in the Huaihe Valley in August 1793. In the poem, the poet describes the natural beauty and his feelings of revisiting the old place five years later, expressing his evaluation of modern times and his expectations for the future. At the same time, a brief comment is made on the content, language features and influence of the poem on the poet's thoughts.
The original title of "Beside Tintern Abbey" was "A poem I recited several miles upstream from Tintern Abbey during a long trip to both sides of the Wye River". The translator shortened it and got its current name.
Next to Tintern Abbey
Five years have passed, five summers, plus
five long winters! I finally heard
the sound of water again, the spring water rolling down from the mountains,
with the gentle gurgling of the inland river.
I once again
saw these steep and tall peaks.
This place is already a quiet wilderness, but
they make people feel Feeling more peaceful,
hang the scenery in front of you to the tranquil sky.
This day has come again, and I can stand here again,
Next to this green maple tree, looking down at my feet,
Everywhere The garden of the cottage is a hillside full of fruit trees.
Because the season has not yet arrived, the fruits have not yet grown.
All the fruit trees can be seen are green,
hidden in the bushes. and among the woods. I once again
saw the hedge, maybe not a hedge,
but a line of lively and naughty little tree spirits;
saw the green of the countryside , green all the way to the door;
A curl of smoke rises from a quiet forest.
The origin of the smoke is difficult to determine, maybe it is
there is something in the forest. Homeless wanderers are walking around,
perhaps there is a hermit living in the cave, and now
sitting alone by the fire.
These beautiful figures
Although they have been separated for a long time, they have never been forgotten.
It is not like a blind person who cannot see the beautiful scenery.
Whenever I live alone in a noisy city,
when I am lonely and tired,
they bring a sweet feeling,
make my heart beat from the blood I felt it,
even entered my purest thoughts,
restored my tranquility
and many other feelings,
Reminds me of forgotten pleasures,
the most precious years for a good man
