In order to save coal reserves, Ukraine has ordered to switch to natural gas for power generation. Such a change will inevitably lead to a decrease in power generation, but judging from the current situation, sufficient power supply can be guaranteed. Just because of the turmoil in the current situation, the country's demand for electricity is smaller than that of singing and dancing.
Coal is a precious resource, and the supply of coal is sufficient in peacetime. However, during wartime, the situation changes rapidly, and coal supply may also be cut off, with supply exceeding demand. In order to ensure sufficient coal reserves, Ukraine ordered power plants to switch to natural gas for power generation. 1. Changing coal-to-gas power generation will affect the production capacity
Coal is an ancient resource, known as "black gold". This resource is very precious. Using coal to generate electricity can obtain more electricity than natural gas, and the cost will be more economical than natural gas.
Ukraine uses coal as a resource reserve and switches to natural gas for power generation, which may lead to a decrease in power generation. If this situation is placed in peacetime, it will definitely not be able to meet the national electricity supply. However, in times of turmoil, natural gas can replace coal in a short period of time and become the main source of electricity generation. 2. The demand for electricity has dropped, and the supply of electricity exceeds demand
In Ukraine, people’s lives have been seriously affected. The vast majority of people choose to stay at home to protect their own safety. Accordingly, work and life have been completely disrupted. Many families chose to hide in basements to prevent accidental damage from shells.
Under such a situation, residents’ demand for electricity will be greatly reduced. As the Ukrainian authorities have said, the current supply of electricity is greater than the demand for electricity. This is why sufficient supply can be ensured. There will not be a shortage of electricity just because coal is replaced by natural gas.
What may be affected by the resumption of war is not the shortage of power supply, but the damage to electrical equipment caused by the war, resulting in power outages in some areas. What the Ukrainian people now need is not a sufficient supply of electricity, but a peaceful and stable living environment.
