The masterpiece "Singing Cicada" expresses homesickness and satirizes the "rich and frivolous" life of the dignitaries in Chang 'an. The meaning is clear and profound, which is praised by Yu Xin. It is a good frontier fortress poem, which describes people's sadness and yearning for women and satirizes military commanders. Lu Sidao's most famous article is Walking in the Army, which exposes the ugliness of officialdom followers in the Northern Qi and Northern Zhou Dynasties. Very vivid, it was praised by Qian Zhongshu as a famous piece in the Northern Dynasties. He also has some historical theories, such as The Old Man and The Rise and Fall of the Northern Qi Dynasty.
