Xin Qiji's ci is profound in content and vigorous in style. He founded and developed the "bold and unconstrained" school initiated by Su Dongpo, and is called "Su Xin" with Su Shi. The new-school poets give full play to the lyric function of ci, which can not only express emotion, but also discuss and reason like poetry. Since then, Ci has been more closely related to social life, the poet's fate and personality, and the poet's artistic personality has become increasingly prominent. The creative technique of ci should not only draw lessons from the artistic experience of poetry, but also "take poetry as ci"; But also absorbed the creative technique of prose, "taking the text as the word" On the premise of maintaining its own unique sense of musical rhythm, the language of writing has also been greatly integrated into the vocabulary of poetry. Although the poeticization and prosaic culture of Ci sometimes inevitably weaken the aesthetic characteristics of Ci, the poet, with an open creative attitude, is compatible with all the contents that can be accommodated, and with an available creative means and language hidden in daily life and traditional history, has liberated the style of Ci unprecedentedly, improved the artistic expression of Ci, and finally established the literary status of Ci as a rival to the poems with five or seven words, which is called "Tang Poetry and Song Poetry" by later generations.
Of course, the ci circle in this period was not dominated by symplectic school, but Jiang Kui (Baishi), Shi Dazu, Gao, Lv Zugao and others formed another school-"graceful school", thus forming a two-peak confrontation with the bold "symplectic school".
