Appreciate "How Vast Life Is" through language

Appreciation of "How Vast Life Is"

After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, a large number of young intellectuals and writers resolutely bid farewell to their past selves in order to seek the truth and save the disaster-ridden motherland. Rushing to Yan'an, the revolutionary center at that time. He Qifang is one of them. In 1945, he published a collection of poems "Night Song" in Yan'an. This is a poem written by the poet after he rushed from the dark Kuomintang-controlled areas to the sunny liberated areas. It is the poet's representative work. The poem uses a new singing voice and a lyrical style to describe his new feelings about the new society and new life. Most of them were written in Yan'an from 1940 to 1942. The famous work "How Vast Life Is" was written in 1941.

The whole poem is divided into three sections. There are only three sentences in the first paragraph, and the first sentence gets straight to the point. The second sentence is a deepening and extension of the first sentence, and also a summary of the first paragraph. The third sentence is a comment on the second sentence: Life is the ocean, and the ocean has treasures, so life also has treasures.

The second paragraph is the focus of the whole poem. It follows the previous paragraph and is an exploration of the "joy and treasure" of the "ocean". The poet arranges eleven life pictures in the first seven sentences, which is the poet's poeticization and idealization of new life. As the poet said, "it is a general celebration of life" and "a dream and desire for life." Things like being a pilot, alpine skiing, Arctic exploration, etc., now seem to many people to be extremely ordinary and not worth writing poems about. But in the extremely poor and backward old China, it was really a life that people, especially young people, dreamed of. The poet uses his fantasy characteristics to think and sing about this kind of life. The last four sentences are a hymn to a deeper level of life. Here, everyone lives a seemingly ordinary but actually happy life. Everyone dedicates their light and heat to others and establishes a new type of heart-to-heart interpersonal relationship in society. This is a reality, an ideal, and aspirational.

The third paragraph is basically a repetition of the first paragraph, except for the sentence "How fragrant life is" in the middle. It is this sentence that points out the allure of ideal life.

The whole poem is clear and lyrical, and has rich connotations. The poet uses modern colloquial language in a relatively simple and refined way, making it catchy and catchy, especially for teenagers. For example, sentences such as "Join the singing team and act in a play" are natural without any trace of refinement. The whole poem is full of passionate emotions and contains philosophical ideas, which can easily make young people full of imagination associate with each other and give people amusement in thinking. The sentence "life is the ocean" is a very easy-to-understand metaphor that contains profound philosophy: life is as vast and vast as the ocean, as colorful as the ocean, and has rough waves and reefs like the ocean... Therefore, until now, this This sentence is still a famous saying that people often say. In terms of form, it is neither formal nor indulgent. The first and third paragraphs rhyme, and the second paragraph seems very long. In fact, the poet has skillfully changed the rhyme three times: "play, teacher, poem", "thing, stay", "qing, heart" ”, so when I recite it, I still don’t feel it is lengthy, but feel free and lively. The poet uses fifteen words "go" in one breath to form a strong parallel sentence, which makes the poem form a "core", majestic and cleverly conceived.
