Zhezong Yuanyou was a Jinshi at the end of his career, and he was an official secretary and a young eunuch. In his later years, he promoted Taizhou Chongdao Temple with the Huiyou Pavilion to be established, and died in the third year of Emperor Gaozong's Shaoxing (years of birth and death according to Wang Zhaopeng's "An Examination of the Birth and Death Years of Six Nandu Poets in the Song Dynasty", published in the sixth issue of "Compilation and Research of Ancient Books"). He is the author of "Xidu Collection", the most complete version is the one published by Zhu Shifenyinzhai of Jingxian County in the second year of Guangxu's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1876).
Hong Yan’s poems are free and unrestrained, and "The Collection of Poems of Baijia Song Dynasty·Xidu Poetry Collection" says: "His poems are free and unrestrained, and there is absolutely no sadness or sadness."
Hong Yan The poem is based on the Xifenyinzhai edition (collected by the Jiangxi Provincial Library), and is proofread by photocopies of Wenyuange's "Siku Quanshu" (referred to as the Siku edition) and "Congshu Collection Preliminary Edition" (referred to as the Congshu edition). One poem from the new collection is included at the end of the volume.
