I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
< p> William WordsworthI wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills ,
Floating over the hills and valleys,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
Suddenly I saw a crowd
A host, of golden daffodils;
The golden daffodils bloom in spring,
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
In the shade of the trees, in By the lake,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
Continuous as the stars that shine,
And twinkle on the milky way,
Sparkling in the Milky Way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
>Extended into an endless line;
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
I saw ten thousand flowers at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
Ups and downs in dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
The sparkling waves are dancing,
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
The joy of Narcissus is better than the waves;
A poet could not but be gay,
With such a cheerful companion,
In such a jocund company:
How can a poet be dissatisfied with joy!
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
I gazed for a long time, but could not imagine
What wealth the show to me had brought: < /p>
How much treasure this wonder has given me -
For oft, when on my couch I lie
Whenever I lie awake in bed,
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
They are always there Flashing in the mind,
Which is the bliss of solitude;
That is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
p>
Then my heart was filled with happiness,
And dances with the daffodils.
Dancing with the daffodils.
