Zhou Yingde, a peasant poet in Zizhong

Zhou Yingde, a peasant poet, digs poetry in the soil.

"My mother's waiting passed through my heart/the traces of years bent in my hometown/my bag/I was in tears at that moment/the days always turned over and over in time/my mother's distant reminder/stinging my stub/the sad/winding road in my pocket/making my thoughts long ..."

-Zhou Yingde, "It's almost time to go home"

He is an ordinary farmer. Like many young and middle-aged laborers in the village, they work outside all the year round. He is no ordinary farmer. After hard work, he likes to write poems. He wrote nearly 100 poems in his QQ diary, ranging from a dozen or twenty lines to just a few lines, expressing emotions or reflecting social phenomena. His name is Zhou Yingde, 42 years old, and he lives in Xintangfang Village, Mingxinsi Town, Zizhong County.

■ Students bring back a book of poems.

On February 8, the author came to Zhou Yingde's home. He greeted him with a smile and dressed simply. From his mouth, the author learned that he returned home from his workplace in Chongqing on February 7.

"In the eyes of villagers, farmers should work honestly and write poems? This is a very' unreasonable' thing, but I just like it. " Yingde Zhou shook his head slightly, rubbing hands and laughed.

One day in the early 1990 s, Zhou Yingde, a classmate who was studying in a technical secondary school in other places, went home. He immediately went to his classmate's house and chatted with him about his long-lost feelings. The students took home a book of poems, which was written by members of the poetry club in middle school. Zhou Yingde opened it curiously. "Some of the poems in it are wonderful and enjoyable to read." He flipped through them with ecstasy, and his heart was ignited by the fire of passion.

■ Write down the first poem after being lovelorn.

At the age of 20, Zhou Yingde went from his hometown to the city to learn tailoring. There is also a girl studying with him. Living and studying under the same roof every day, gradually, Zhou Yingde had an affection for that girl.

After unremitting pursuit, the girl agreed to him. However, due to objective reasons such as family conditions, their relationship finally came to an end. Zhou Yingde was lovelorn and expressed his inner pain with poetry. He wrote: "The call of the whistle approached again and again/you stood on the platform to see me off/the silence around you/I only heard your breath/the wind trembled there/every nerve/every language locked my throat/the diary handed to me began to turn yellow/I counted the steps when I came/but forgot the news of your departure." This is the first poem he wrote in his life. Its name is Parting.

■ Poetry is the best adjustment.

Forced to make a living, Zhou Yingde had to run around and work to support his family, and poetry was the best relief after a hard day's work.

After a busy day, many people were lying in bed fast asleep, but Zhou Yingde found a pen and paper and completed another "job" of his own-writing down what he saw, heard and thought during the day. If "inspiration comes", lines of sentences will be condensed into poems. He wrote more than 200 poems in his spare time, but for various reasons, only 100 poems were preserved.

■ Poetry is nostalgia after old age.

Zhou Yingde told the author that for many years, he wrote poems only for "self-entertainment" and did not want to contribute or communicate with other poets.

After the Spring Festival of 20 14, he wanted to broaden his horizons, so he subscribed to Star Poetry.

He got to know a poet in Lu Xian county through the contact information in Star Poetry magazine. The poet recommended Wei Guangwu, a poet from Neijiang, to him, which gave him a broader learning space and opportunities. With the encouragement of his predecessors, his confidence doubled and his enthusiasm for writing poems soared. He said that he persisted for more than 20 years only because he loved poetry and enjoyed the fun it brought him, and also because he wanted to miss it when he was old.
