Baita, also known as Gratitude Pagoda, is located in the second commercial street in the city. Founded in the 18th year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 184), it was repaired in the 14th year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty and Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, 1983 and 1985, and it has been well preserved so far. The tower sits west to east, with masonry structure, seven pavilions with double eaves and a height of 33. 2 meters. The tower is octagonal, and it is collected in layers. There are also stone carvings in relief around, and the lines of the characters are smooth and lifelike. This tower was built for the gratitude of Feng Zhen, the envoy of Fu Lu Nan. Whenever night falls, the surrounding of the White Pagoda is brightly lit, and the whole White Pagoda looks beautiful and spectacular. Really worthy of what my mother said: the night of Baita is much more beautiful than the day!
Looking at the White Pagoda built to repay my gratitude, I was filled with emotion. I highly praised China's traditional virtue of "filial piety" from the working people in Luzhou hundreds of years ago, thus inspiring the good people in Luzhou to forge ahead.
Because the White Pagoda is located in the city center, a big square was built in front of it a few years ago. Businessmen from all walks of life often gather here to participate in exhibitions, which enlivens the economy of Luzhou.
