Henry rollins is a living legend, and the underground world is a hero of a praised friend.

Abstract: Get on the Bus and Go is a video record of Henry Ron and Black Flag on the road together. It records in detail his heroic journey with one of the most important rock bands of our time. It is a panoramic record of hrones's six-year "journey of conscience" from the introduction of old Canadian bands to the dissolution of the band 1986. This book evolved from Rawlings' travels. It is a chronicle woven by him with the most vigorous frankness and sharp humor, in which there are fanatical fans, aggressive policemen and poor people who are busy all night.

In the early 1980s, when American punk was in full swing, "Black Flag" was an absolute pioneer both in music and ideology-they adhered to a firm independent spirit and code of conduct, which most bands could not reach. Ron is the focus of the "Black Flag", so he has become the object of reverence or hostility of most fans. During the field riots, Rawlings kept his notes, which recorded various events and his thoughts.

Get on the Bus and Go is sharp and thought-provoking, and full of black humor. This is a profound and fascinating visit to the band that defined the music and posture of a period.

Author's self-report:

Rock and roll-a sound

If you want to find a kind of music to convey young people's thoughts and feelings, it must be rock music; If there is a kind of music whose spirit is closely related to the times and has influenced the behavior of generations of young people, it is still rock music. When we look back on that time half a century ago, we can't help feeling melancholy. With the ups and downs of music, the public's emotions are passionate, but they are depressed. Too many voices and too many choices surrounded the young people of that era. In order to publicize themselves and show their refusal, they sang rock and roll.

As a witness of this society, as a performer of this society, rock recorded that history with sound, and also recorded people's mentality and thoughts in that history. Fifty years later, although the society has calmed down a lot and people have calmed down a lot, rock and roll has not changed its original intention. "This is a bunch of heart fires. The beauty lies not in the shape of the flames, but in the heat and light." When I wrote this sentence, the enthusiasm of the past returned to my heart. How long has it been since I heard of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones? Some people say that the end of the century is a nostalgic era. Today in the new century, in the rhythm of rock music, it reminds me of those passionate years 50 years ago. What kind of young people are they? They refuse everything, they go out of their homes, they resist the existing norms and order, they are a group of sensitive and fragile people, venting their dissatisfaction in loneliness. Is that society really addicted, or is it the rejection and rebellion of young people when they grow up? With a lot of reflection, I once again traced back to rock and roll along the road of music upstream.

More than fifty years ago, The Beatles sang this song:

Bluebirds sing at midnight,

Learn to fly with these broken wings,

You spent your whole life,

Just waiting for this rising moment.

Bluebirds sing at midnight,

Learn to stare with deep eyes,

You spent your whole life,

Just waiting for this moment of freedom.

Jade bird once flew in that dark and heavy age with young dreams, and rock music tells people's hopes. Despite the roar of heavy metals, the decadence of psychedelic rock, and the bizarre variety of gorgeous rock, rock still stares at freedom and resistance, singing with sunken eyes and passion.

Grand performances have become a thing of the past, and the idols that have led generations of young people have also retired behind the scenes of history, and the era of agitation has gone. An unknown person picked up a pen and wrote down that history. Can't say this book is "history", history is too heavy and solemn. I stared at it with my eyes and thought with my head, that's all. In the face of complex rock history and huge music works, any words are pale and powerless, and any conclusion may not be clear about its deep meaning. But only in this way, so staring, so writing.

3. "Scream-For China's Rock"

Introduction: The new book Shout: For China's Once Rock, jointly published by Yisheng Media and Guangxi Normal University Press, is actually the essence of the post-nostalgia era-for China's Once Rock, hosted by Lu, a famous music program host, and the record also released two recording CDs and an interview VCD of the program. The emergence of any new thing needs a large number of pioneers, and the fate of these pioneers is often like the cornerstone of a building, and they seem to exist only in the deepest part of memory. Panther, Tang Dynasty, Breathing, Overloading and Reincarnation, these familiar names constitute the backbone, branches and sensitive nerve endings of Chinese rock music. However, some people before them basically don't remember or know each other. Just like the main source of rivers, they play an important role in the birth and development of Chinese rock music. It was they who made the first cry for the germination of Chinese rock music. The new book, VCD and CD of the same name have conducted a series of interviews with dozens of Chinese rock musicians and related figures, starting with the main members of the first quasi-rock band, Seven Clipboards, in China. In the minds of these first-generation rockers, how did they extract and separate the concept of rock music from the influence of spiritual power? What kind of understanding and comprehension process has all this gone through? Why do we know nothing about rock and roll but make up our minds to die for it? Scream: For China's Rock & Roll, through interviews with dozens of people inside and outside the rock circle, objectively records the 20-year history of Chinese rock & roll, shows the life state and creative mentality of rock & roll people in detail, and deeply thinks about the possibility of further development of Chinese rock & roll.

4. "Brilliant Nirvana"

Introduction: This is a book in memory of Ke Ben. Author Fang Hao said: I think their music is still great today. In the past ten years, few music forms have had a greater influence than them. When you look back at that era and find that their music and influence are beyond your control, then it is great and immortal.

5. "Cui Jian, Shouting in nothingness"

Author; Zhao Jianwei, I am always glad that I accepted this book, because it has not escaped the tragic fate of being banned. The godfather of Chinese rock and roll, the first person, Cui Jian's life and music documentary reportage, the first documentary literature about Chinese rock and roll, a masterpiece of heavy reflection on the dignified history and present situation of China people.

6. "Hundred Flowers Blossom-the bondage and struggle of rock and roll"

Introduction: 65,438+00 years ago, Fang Hao, who was born in the philosophy of dialectical materialism, wrote a book about rock and roll-Flowers in Full Bloom-Bound and Struggle of Rock and Roll, which became the bible of many rock and roll lovers in China. Ten years later, the book "inspired countless young people" was reprinted. Flowers in Bloom is not so much a music review as a work of rock philosophy. Rock and roll is just a breakthrough for Fang Hao to open his mind. Through the carrier of rock and roll, the author tells his own thoughts on a specific era and culture. Therefore, in the book, we can read not only the rich background and event details about rock collected by the author, but also the author's unique evaluation of rock culture in different historical periods, as well as the interpretation of rock and riot, rock and sex, rock and drug abuse, rock and modernization, rock and ideology and other issues.

In China, Cui Jian, the godfather of rock, shouted "Nothing" and issued "Rock on the New Long March". Black Panther, "Datang" and "Fantasy Rock Three Heroes" (Zhang Chu, Dou Wei, He Yong) made the young people in China with blood boiling into the rock hall with tears, and they were zero, reincarnation, overload, Confucius and Bao Jiajie. However, the voice of "Chinese rock is dead" frequently appears in our ears. Why do rock bands in Europe and America always keep their vitality, and their albums become more and more exciting, while most rock bands in China are short-lived, such as a flash in the pan, and then die silently? 1993, Mo Yan and Panther canceled the contract, and a few years later, they did not renew the contract with the Tang Dynasty. Has he lost confidence in Chinese rock? In the ten years after the release of Fang Hao's first edition of Flowers in Bloom, mainland rock seems to be thriving, but there are signs of decline under its glamorous appearance. How to cure this newly opened and injured flower? This is not something that a few people can accomplish, but we are thinking of Fang Hao, a passionate person (Yan) who "always regards the brains and pure hearts of scholars as' deformed people' and the bottom culture". Maybe we can rediscover the true rock temperament and spirit from Fang Hao's book: I am not the most beautiful flower, but I want to bloom for you and be happy for you.

7: "Basement"

Introduction: The author Benjamin, a group of young people gathered in Beijing in the name of music, took the basement as their residence and staged a series of plays. The clue is Xiao Hang. In order to pursue the rock spirit, he joined Yafei's band from his hometown to Beijing, witnessing the difficulty of the band's survival and the disintegration of the band.

Xiao Hang went to Xinjiang after his musical ideal hit a wall. After being robbed, he made a living by singing. There he met his first love girlfriend for a long time, was shocked by this long change, and left her in a rage and went back to his hometown. Bored, I was stimulated when I saw the great changes of Cinnamomum cassia. When I went back to Beijing, I became a white-collar worker first, and I saw Yafei commemorating the old cannon in Paradise Bar. I had a brainwave, quit my job, bid farewell to the girl who loved him and went back to the basement. ...

8: "Sugar"

Introduction: Author Mianmian. This is actually not a rock book, but it involves rock life. It was written by a female writer in the early days of that era, including The doors, Nirvana and a band. The story of Tangtang is as follows: "Problem Girl" and "Me" met "Problem Boy" Sai Ning at the age of 19, and they started their "cruel youth" for ten years.

This book is the tears I can't shed and the fear in my smile. This book is because at dawn, I told myself that I must eat all my fears and rubbish, and I must turn all my fears and rubbish into sugar, because I know that this is why you love me. "

9: "Please Kill Me"

Introduction: Fang Hao is a writer and music critic, who is regarded as the spokesman of rock culture and alternative culture. Following the well-known classics such as "A Hundred Flowers Bloom" and "Brilliant Nirvana", Fang Hao, a music critic, has a new book on the market. But in fact, this book is by far the most vivid and interesting of Fang Hao's six books. The book recalls in detail the fragments of American rock music masters in the 1970s in oral style. Those rock heroes who were once tall and powerful in the hearts of fans have fallen-but they have also become real people.

10: Beautiful Ruins

Introduction: In Beautiful Ruins, Tian He described a man who was tortured by love in a very slow style: light. Wandering has become his main theme, just to escape the confusion of the same sex. It seems that the tireless love-escape-is not only the only choice for light, but also the only choice for anyone who is confused about the same sex. Or kill someone you love. Broken personality and depressed and distorted mental state are gradually popular in cities and ruins? The neglected spiritual garden.

Out of his love for rock and roll, Tian He spent a lot of time describing the rock and roll in Wuhan. If there is rock in China, it only exists in people's consciousness. We feel humble in front of rock and roll. What kind of life is that? Down and out for the ideal or something. The closing of bars, Yang Meng's suicide and the gradual separation of bands all make us wonder whether there is rock in China or a copy of western rock. For a long time, except for bands such as the Tang Dynasty, few bands in China can shine on the stage at once. We can only remember ourselves again and again in the book. I believe that Tian He's love for rock and roll is loyal and will not give up because of anything else. Wuhan Rock Festival is being planned at present. Just like my love for avant-garde culture, ideals and beliefs enable us to write something quietly, and rock and roll is constantly playing in his ruins. Each string is the protagonist of the ruins, intertwined into an incurable love and escape. The chaotic life, the time span from America to Britain is condensed into the rise and fall of a note.
