Wang Guozhen, a native of Xiamen, Fujian Province, was born in Beijing in 1956 and graduated from the Chinese Department of Jinan University in 1982.
Wang Guozhen caused a sensation after he published his first book "Young Tide" in 199, and his collection of poems was the highest since the creation of new poems. His collection of poems and short stories has won the "Golden Key" award of the last three national books in succession. According to Beijing Zero Market Research and Analysis Company's survey of residents in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Xiamen in July 1997, "How far are we from poetry?" The survey results show that among the poets born after the founding of the People's Republic of China, his poems rank first in popularity. In 1993, Taiwan Province published five kinds of "Wang Guozhen Poetry Series", and in the same year, the Japanese version of his poems was also published. In 1997, his poems were published in Italy. At present, there are 16 monographs published in China to study and appreciate Wang Guozhen's works, including Young Style-An Interview with Wang Guozhen, Wang Guozhen Tide published by Overseas Chinese Publishing House, Young Handsome-Dialogue with Wang Guozhen published by International Cultural Publishing Company, and Poems on Wang Guozhen published by Qinghai People's Publishing House.
