Translator's message:
Weicheng is in the northwest of Chang 'an, Shaanxi, and Yangguan is in Dunhuang, Gansu. In fact, the two places are far apart. If the Acropolis is singled out from translation, foreigners may not understand its meaning.
In addition, the original poem is AABA rhyme, and the rhyme used in the two versions is inconsistent with the rhyme of the original poem. Because the rhymes of English poems are relatively symmetrical, I don't think it is necessary to stick to this in translating Tang poems into English.
