Ennis (239 ~ 169 BC) was born in a noble family in Calabria, southern Italy. He was influenced by Greek culture since childhood and was called "half Greek". After being captured in Cancun War, he came to Rome, was taken care of by Cato and Sibbio, and obtained Roman citizenship in BC 184. Ennius was poor all his life and was praised by Cicero, who thought his writing was more beautiful than his predecessors. As a poet, Ennis writes tragedies and comedies, in which tragedy is the main one. His tragedies are based on Greek works and can be compared with euripides's works. It is characterized by profound and meticulous psychological description. His most important work is Chronicle, which imitates Homer's epic. It is said that this book has as many as 18 volumes, and now there are only 600 lines left. In ancient times, this epic was as famous as later Virgil's Enid. In addition, Ennius also translated a large number of Greek literary works and wrote many other works, such as Oracle Bone Inscriptions's poems and philosophical poems. He is a prolific writer.
