IB course selection issues

1. Language subjects are generally Chinese A and English B. If the child is good enough in English and can do bilingual, he will choose to learn Humanity as the first language. He also just graduated in November this year. ~ Answer the questions according to the question . It should be noted that if there is no other language foundation, you cannot choose it as a second language arbitrarily. For example, it is not easy to learn Japanese as a second language. It is not as easy as anyone thinks, especially if you don’t know any Japanese at all. Therefore, it is recommended to study English, which will also be helpful for going to the United States in the future. If he has to look at the courses when applying, there is no point in studying Japanese L2 abroad.

2. HUMANITY

HISTORY History is quite irritating to Chinese people, and when doing internal assessment, history will make you want to vomit blood. Geography is okay, very good, but you need to have a good understanding. IB geography is completely different from Chinese geography. What you learn is not mountains and rivers, but population, settlement, resources and so on.

ECONOMIC has a very good economy. Economy HL has a little more content than SL, but it’s still good. If you work hard, you can hope to get high scores. Generally speaking, more Chinese students choose to study economics.

BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT

B&M is definitely not a subject to be memorized by rote. It requires students to have a good understanding of each concept, including the final exam, which is mostly case-based. In terms of examining students' learning status, it can be seen from the scoring standards that many contents require students to analyze real-life enterprise problems by applying theoretical knowledge in textbooks and be able to provide reasonable solutions. Therefore, during the learning process, you must also be good at thinking and make more assumptions based on the internal and external environment of the company. Only in this way can you learn B&M well and get high scores in the final exam. In addition, good knowledge of economics is a good foundation for learning business well.

3.SCIENCE

PHYSICS Physics HL is not easy to learn, but boys who want to study engineering are advised to take the challenge. It is not as difficult as the legend says! I know that as long as the final total score of physics is less than 70%, I can get a 7. SL is okay. Many Chinese people choose SL, and it is easier to get 7.

CHEMISTRY is similar to high school chemistry, with more experiments and equations, but it’s still OK. It’s a moderate subject and I don’t hate it. You can learn it if you want, haha.

BIOLOGY This,,, there are many experts who choose HL and get 7 points. Overall, I feel that HL is not much more difficult than SL.

4.ART

50% of the total score in music is performance. If the piano is just average, it is not recommended to choose it. If you are level 8 or 10, just choose it. I played the piano very well in school and learned music. But foreigners who learn music are all very creative, writing their own songs, playing guitar, etc. If you are not good at composition, music theory, and piano playing, don’t learn music.

It is recommended to learn Japanese. It is easier to get points by learning Japanese in Group 6. This is what everyone who studies Japanese says, because Japanese Group 6 is not language 2, there is a big difference and it will be obviously much easier. If you are good at chemistry or biology, you can also choose another science as the sixth group. Depends on your own interests. It is not recommended to choose art, because there are so many things to do. Unless you want to study architecture or art-related work in the future, don't choose art, because it is difficult to get 7 points.

5.TOK

The most important thing is to write essays and do orals to exercise thinking skills. When you get to school, just borrow a TOK book and read it. It's hard to understand at first, but it gets better gradually. Finally, TOK does not require an exam. You will do an oral that accounts for 20% of the TOK score, and then an essay accounts for 80% of the total TOK score. If you cannot get an E or above in the TOK essay, you will not be able to graduate, so you must write well and give more The teacher changed.

6.TOK and Extended Essay add up to 3 credits. An A in both TOK and EE is 3 credits. An A and a B are also 3 credits. Two Bs are 2 credits. Wait, if both of them fail to pass E, there will be no diploma. Can't graduate. There are also CAS courses that do not count as credits, but if you do less than 150 hours, you will not be able to graduate. 150 hours includes 50 hours of service, 50 hours of action and 50 hours of creativity. After arriving at an IB school, the school will usually give you many activities to choose from. For example, service can work in a nursing home, or help clean up garbage in the community, etc. For example, action can go to the gym to run and swim, go to camp to participate in some activities such as cycling, and dancing. Action is easier to complete. For creativity, if you don’t study music, playing the piano counts, and then participating in Korean cooking, Indian cooking, needlework, painting, and school performances also count. Generally speaking, don't worry, there is a lot you can do.
