Studying these poems, it is not difficult to find that Bai Juyi's accommodation thought can be roughly divided into two stages.
In the previous stage, Bai Juyi drifted with the tide in his official career, thinking that life was too short and fortunes were unpredictable, and he had a strong sense of disillusionment and anxiety, and his attitude was pessimistic. As he said in "Yi Yi Er Pian", "Middle-aged people have to wait for the failure of state affairs. It's hard to be a guest, especially a minister. The situation is convenient and moving is tiring. I am very fast when I am straight, but it is not my ambition when I meet it. In ten years, I will be exhausted in my chest. " During this period, Bai Juyi went in and out of the imperial court, feeling deeply personal insignificance and powerlessness, and his political enthusiasm of "advocating righteousness and restraining illness" and "pleading for the people" in his early years also disappeared a little. Faced with such a reality, he felt very helpless. For the first time, he sighed that "life is like sending", thinking that life is only temporarily floating in the world, and feeling that life is too short and fate cannot be independent.
In the second stage, Bai Juyi's accommodation thought changed significantly. In the fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth cases cited above, we can see five groups of obviously opposite concepts, namely, form and sex, body and name, name and interest, body and shape, right and wrong and body. According to the first stage, it is "body" and "mind". Different from the previous stage, Bai Juyi tried to regard "body" and "heart" as two separate aspects, so that "heart" was detached from "body". Although I am in officialdom, I am indifferent. Here, Bai Juyi took a step forward from taking the "world" as the boarding place of "body" and taking "body" as the boarding place of "heart", thus surpassing his boarding thought.
