Qi Yao Min Shu is a comprehensive agricultural book, which is the first of the five agricultural books in ancient China. The director described the agricultural production in the lower reaches of the Yellow River basin, namely, southeast Shanxi, south-central Hebei, northeast Henan and north-central Shandong.
Qi Yao Min Shu praised Geng Shouchang's constant liquidation and Sang Hongyang's equal loss method as the immortal art of benefiting the country and the people, and laughed at Confucius' four bodies without diligence, regardless of the grain. Jia Sixie has established a relatively complete agricultural science system, reasonably classified agronomy categories, and is characterized by practicality. A series of processes from land reclamation, cultivation to postpartum processing, brewing and utilization are described in detail. At the same time, planting, forestry and various aquatic products are also discussed.
Appreciation of the Book of Qi Yao Min;
The first six volumes of Qi Yao Min Shu include all agriculture in a broad sense. The first half of the seventh and eighth volumes are agricultural products processing or agricultural sideline. The last two volumes of the ninth volume can be said to be rural household handicrafts as auxiliary income, which is roughly in line with the farmers' starting from order and finally getting rid of sugar.
Taking the third cycle of Plant Valley as an example, this paper analyzes the basic contents and writing methods of Qi Yaomin's Book. The subtitle under the heading is a comment on the theme of Plant Valley. In ancient times, there were different names, good varieties and old facts, followed by works, and the source was indicated.
