Recently, due to the popularity of the new TV series "Three Kingdoms", the discussion about the drama and the history of the Three Kingdoms has become a hot topic. Recently, the book publishing industry has also published several "Three Kingdoms", including the Japanese writer Chen's "Three Kingdoms". For this book, critics have different opinions, including many disdainers and admirers. How on earth did a Japanese historian interpret this history?
Chen doesn't know China people.
This is really a maddening novel of the Three Kingdoms. Can you imagine that a novel about the story of the Three Kingdoms has been written for a quarter, and "Peach Garden Three Marriages" is late, and it's just Liu's furtive remarks? In the middle of things, Zhuge Liang has not yet stepped onto the historical stage, nor has he been right in Longzhong?
However, the Secret Book of the Three Kingdoms by the famous Japanese historical novelist Mr. Chen has been a success. In his works, Liu, Guan, Zhang and Zhuge Liang are all supporting roles, and Wu Mi-dao and Shao Rong are the absolute protagonists. The five-meter road is simply the FBI of the Three Kingdoms period. Its followers and branches extend in all directions and are scattered all over the country, collecting all kinds of information about the current situation, war situation and talents. Zhang Lu, the mother and godmother of five meters long, was born inexplicably and wanted to be the spiritual leader of the people all over the world and save them from suffering. In a few words, she can almost control the ideological will and decision-making of world overlords such as Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao and Sun Jian, which is really amazing. His adopted son, "Chen Qian", is simply a strategist, who knows the general trend of the world, makes friends with heroes all over the world, and is well versed in miracles.
I think the original intention of Mr. Chen's writing is to understand the survival and lifestyle of people in the chaotic times of the jungle in the late Eastern Han Dynasty from the perspective of the disadvantaged groups under the guise of the Five-meter Road. However, I think this arrangement is a bit beside the point. On a whim, Mr. Chen turned fictional characters such as "Shao Rong" and "Chen Qian" into indispensable wedge figures in the history of the Three Kingdoms and became an important narrator in the book. I really beg to differ.
The Japanese may never understand the thoughts and feelings of the people of China, nor will they ever understand the expectations of the people in troubled times. During the Three Kingdoms period, heroes came forth in large numbers, and there should be many wonderful stories to write. However, the secrets of the Three Kingdoms are too dull to see any wonderful stories of wits and wits. -Heijuyi
From unconvinced to convinced
Chen's historical novels are very strange, especially the Secret Books of the Three Kingdoms.
On the surface, Japanese people are a bit stupid in writing history and literature. Detailed historical facts and detailed scrutiny completely put the textual research of official history on literature. However, even if they try hard, they will never leave a trace, let alone jump out of the plot and make a gesture of introducing you to the background knowledge, hanging a schoolbag and showing off themselves.
But in essence, their historical literature is very dishonest, because on the basis of rich details, they always reinterpret the characters and completely reverse the logic of events, making you feel that under the historical framework, he is completely telling another story. ...
This explanation is unconvinced at first glance. However, the magic of Chen is that he can always convince you in the end. From the backchat of "how is it possible" to the interpretation of "so it is", The Three Kingdoms suddenly became rich. It turns out that it has another logic, another world, which we ignore. -Beichen
A real novel.
Chen reorganized history with detective thinking. Frankly speaking, I don't like this method, but I admire this courage. This is the courage that most China novelists don't have, and it is also a writing style that many China readers will never tolerate.
However, the novel must be intelligent, emotional, solemn and willful. It has its own logic. As long as it can give us a completely different feeling, it is a good novel. The terrible thing is that our feelings have been kidnapped by habit, so we are always obsessed with what Guan Yu should do, what Zhang Fei should do, what history should do … Aren't we reading novels? Why don't we think about what novels should be like and what imagination should be like? How to write?
Whether you like it or not, this is a real novel.

During the Three Kingdoms period, heroes came forth in large numbers, and there should be many wonderful stories to write. However, the secret book of the Three Kingdoms is a collection of lace stories of the Three Kingdoms.
As for the spirit and theme of the Three Kingdoms expressed by Chen in his book, it is quite different from my understanding.
Wu, I'm here to stop my brother The ultimate goal of force is to turn enemies into friends. If we can think clearly about this meaning, force can lead to the realm of good. Why has Guan Yu been named a saint and hero for thousands of years, and Zhuge Liang is regarded as the embodiment of wisdom? That's because they stick to their inner moral principles, ideals and justice. In troubled times, these beautiful things, such as suffering, benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom and faith, can't stand the beating of cruel reality, and there are many treacherous people, such as Lu Bu and others. Guan Yu, however, went through five customs and beheaded six generals and returned to Liu Bei. He is brave and loyal. He feels the earth moving. However, according to the secrets of the Three Kingdoms, Guan Yu's escape is actually a double-reed play starring Cao Cao and Guan Yu.
In troubled times, the struggle for power is very important, and people with strength and fists may become heroes. Cao Cao gradually became the overlord of the Central Plains, relying on wisdom and force, relying on love and talent. But Cao Cao's ferocity is also obvious. On the border between Xuzhou and Tao Qian, Cao Cao's father, Cao Song, was killed by gangsters, and Cao Cao really conquered and slaughtered under the guise of revenge for his father. However, from the overall situation of the world, the Secret Book of the Three Kingdoms thinks that Cao Cao's brutal revenge is wrong, but it can be forgiven. Cao Cao's talent chinese odyssey, Cao Cao's hegemony must be unconditionally supported by both hands and feet. Therefore, the five-meter road with "Shaorong" as its godmother still supports Cao Cao's hegemony by any means.
In contrast, Chen believes that Liu Bei's kindness can't hide his hypocritical, insidious and cunning nature. Tao Qian asked Xuzhou to give it to Liu Bei. Liu Bei knew that his ability was limited, so even Shao Rong called to testify. He and Lu Bu played a game of "moving Kun" and gave Xuzhou to Lu Bu. Another example is that Liu Bei was defeated by Cao Cao and fled to Yuan Shu's account, which was understood by Chen as a trip to undercover. It turned out that Cao Cao deliberately arranged for Liu Bei to go undercover in Yuan Shu to bring down Yuan Shu. Since then, in the battle of Guandu, Liu Bei's sow discord and tipped them off, which made a great contribution to Cao Jun's victory. These conspiracy theories are incredible and really open my eyes. In short, how to discredit Liu Bei, just make up your mind.
Of the three kingdoms, why did the most powerful Wei perish first? (Jin usurped Wei, Wei first died) Because of the lack of the support of benevolence, righteousness and morality, the so-called strength can't cover up the weak essence of being strong outside and hollow inside. Why can the most fatuous Liu Chan get Zhuge Liang's dedicated assistance? Because of the influence of benevolence and morality, the disaster story from Xiao Qiang can only be a legend. No matter what the historical truth is, questions hover in my heart, but no one answers: If Liu Bei is such a sinister villain, how can Guan Yu and Zhang Fei willingly follow him to death? If Liu Bei is such a sinister villain, how could he not bear to abandon the people and flee?
I'm thinking, the real hero should be a kind person, dedicated to the public, all his life. I'm afraid that's why Chen and I think differently. Perhaps, he saw the world advocating the law of the jungle from the Three Kingdoms, and I saw the value and importance of benevolence and morality from the Three Kingdoms. What's the use of unifying the world if principles and morality are lost? If we become animals, how can human society be rebuilt?
However, in the eyes of China people, Chen is a banner of Japanese historiography. He has studied history for many years, and he has written many books and works, which can be described as success. Nowadays, coming to the mainland is also full of enthusiasm. I have to say, "Fame is really hard to compare." It should be noted that if you can't integrate into your own spiritual experience, you can't really understand the thoughts and feelings of China people, and you can't know and restore the true history of the Three Kingdoms just by wallowing in old paper piles. Tai Shigong said: "When we study the relationship between heaven and man, we can understand the changes from ancient times to modern times and become a family statement." Compared with this requirement, Japan's research on the history of the Three Kingdoms still has a long way to go. China people should have this confidence, and they must not just worship the pier.
History is like an old man with a poor memory. Although many unforgettable things will be engraved in his mind forever, which will make him unforgettable, he often forgets hundreds of times more things. So whenever people ask about the old man's past, he is also vague. He may tell you what happened, but I'm afraid I can't remember how it happened. And that lost memory has become a mystery that curious people desperately want to know. In addition to a special historian, he tried to restore the lost memory puzzles in the old man's brain by rigorous and scientific methods, and there was a novelist who liked to shut himself in his own brain and judge others by himself, trying to piece together pieces of history with his own pen, and then announced loudly: Look! This is the history I created!
As Japanese writer Chen said in the postscript of The Secret Book of Three Kingdoms, "Anyway, this is my story of Three Kingdoms."
Indeed, although The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is a household name in China and Japan, Chen still created a unique Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I don't know if it's because he was born a mystery writer. Chen's novel writing style is imaginative and different from other historical novelists. On the one hand, he respects the existing historical facts of the Three Kingdoms to an unbounded extent. On the other hand, he regarded himself as a historical detective, and made extensive inferences about the missing parts in Historical Records by using induction and deduction's method, trying to uncover various mysteries in the history of the Three Kingdoms. Therefore, readers will constantly exclaim in the process of reading: Oh, it is for this reason that Liu Bei left Cao Cao! Yuan Shaocai failed for this reason! It turns out that Zhuge Liang went to the Northern Expedition for this reason! Wait, wait, wait! 600,000 words have transformed the history of the Three Kingdoms full of intrigue into a secret diplomatic history that cannot be put on the table. However, we see all kinds of political brokers shuttling between groups, secretly making money and manipulating groups to achieve their own self-interest. Among them, the author focuses on the Wudoumijiao Group in Bashu at that time and the Buddhist Group that just entered the Central Plains. As two weak groups without any political and military strength, how to survive and develop in troubled times has become their primary task. As a result, they wandered among the princes and engaged in various political speculations, hoping that they would be as good as a tumbler. Yellow turban insurrectionary army? No offense! Dong Zhuo? Support! Cao Cao? Help vigorously! Sun quan? Can't neglect! Liu Bei? Give back a peach! Therefore, in the long troubled times, with the curtain call of countless heroes, Wudoumi's fairy godmother lived to the end, and Buddhism became more and more influential in the Central Plains.
Judging from the historical process, the development of Buddhism and Taoism in China is obviously not the result of political speculation described in the Secret Book of the Three Kingdoms. Besides, unlike the West, China has always been a country with a separation of church and state. Regardless of Buddhism and Taoism, there are few moments and opportunities to get their hands on secular regimes. Except for a few monks, they have little influence on China politics. However, when I saw that incomplete history that day, Chen obviously had a completely different idea from China people. It is hard to say that this is not because of the natural mentality of a small country living in the cracks.
There is a saying that "when immortals fight, mortals suffer". If everyone is in harmony, it will be easy, but once a war breaks out between big countries, small countries caught between big countries will feel uncomfortable and easily fall into the stream of arrows. For a big country, it is just a trivial matter that scratches the skin. For a small country, it may be a major event that hurts the bones for a hundred days. Therefore, how to survive among big countries is the political wisdom that small countries must have. If you don't do it well, you will make enemies on all sides, and it will be miserable in the end. Poland, for example, is located between Germany and the former Soviet Union, but it has both sides. The Soviet Union and Germany were not its enemies, but were later carved up by them. Although people often lament the fate of the country, they are also ridiculed as "the foot-binding cloth of a big country." "The country is small but not humble, the strength is small but not afraid of strength, rudeness insults the neighbors, and the greedy and humble can die." This sentence of Han Feizi is enough to make a footnote for it. In contrast, Japan is also a strong neighbor, located in China, Russia and the United States, but it is really good at long-sleeved dancing. We can not only submit to humiliation in Russia and the United States, but also take advantage when China is weak and show kindness when China is strong. Although the action under the stage is constant, the stage is full of smiles. It can be said that he understands small country diplomacy.
Just like Pentecostalism in the Secret Book of the Three Kingdoms, they make friends with the major governors, but miraculously do not offend each other, and are regarded as guests wherever they go. The only pity is that it is too far away from China, not to mention the secret history. Although compared with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the secrets of the Three Kingdoms use more real historical materials and respect historical facts. It seems that China people can fry a plate of Chinese food with these four kinds of oil, salt, sauce and vinegar, but for foreigners, no matter how many China ingredients are, it is likely to be his own dish.
Readers who are familiar with the history of the Three Kingdoms may really burst into tears when they see the plot of Cao Cao and Liu Bei, the plot of Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi in this book. The wisdom of China people, when so unbearable!
