Zu Chongzhi's Ancient Astronomical Calendar Records

Stone God was an astronomer and astrologer of Wei during the Warring States Period. He is one of the China people named after the crater on the back of the moon. He is the author of Eight Volumes of Astronomy (Star Classics revered as history after the Western Han Dynasty) and Huntian Map. Stone gods have systematically observed the movements of five planets, namely, gold, wood, water, fire and earth, and found their haunts.

Zhang Heng (78- 139), born in Xi 'e, Nanyang (now Shiqiao, Nanyang, Henan), was a great astronomer in China during the Eastern Han Dynasty, and made indelible contributions to the development of astronomy, mechanical technology and seismology in China. In mathematics, geography, painting and literature, Zhang Heng also showed extraordinary talent and extensive knowledge. Zhang Heng is one of the representatives of Huntian theory in the middle of Eastern Han Dynasty. He pointed out that the moon itself does not shine, and moonlight is actually a reflection of the sun's light. He also correctly explained the cause of the solar eclipse. Zhang Heng has won many honors and is regarded as a generalist by some scholars. Some modern scholars also compare his work with Ptolemy (86-65438).

Zu Chongzhi (429-500) was a mathematician and astronomer in Liu and Song Dynasties. Zu Chongzhi's major achievements are in mathematics, astronomical calendar and mechanical manufacturing. In addition, it is recorded in history that Zu Chongzhi is proficient in temperament and good at playing chess, and also wrote the novel "Different Records". Zu Chongzhi wrote many works, but most of them have been lost. Zu Chongzhi's son Zu Xuan is also a mathematician.

Guo Shoujing (123 1 year-13 16 years), born in Xingtai, Shunde (now Xingtai, Hebei), was an astronomer, mathematician and hydraulic scientist in China in the Yuan Dynasty. Yuan Taizong lived for three years (123 1 year). Responsible for repairing the canal from Yuandadu to Tongzhou. The new calendar was revised by 1276, and the time calendar was made in four years. This was the most advanced calendar in the world at that time. In memory of him, Xingtai City named a main street "Guo Shoujing Avenue". To commemorate the 750th birthday of Guo Shoujing, 198 1 year.
