In fact, the Analects of Confucius, as the official orthodox Confucianism, has some essence, such as his educational philosophy, treating people with things, treating life and so on. I recommend you to listen to Yu Dan's The Analects. As a representative of Taoism, Tao Te Ching expounds the natural laws of the emergence, development and extinction of all things in the world, and accordingly tells people how to understand and treat nature, and the philosophical thoughts contained in it are also very interesting.
In fact, why should we divide it? Personally, I think these two books are worth reading, and improving my self-cultivation is actually a comprehensive matter. I suggest you read more relevant ancient books.
