Well, I have to think about it. Chang 'an City Wall is divided into more than 100 residential areas (squares) by 38 streets, and each residential area is surrounded by square city walls and gates. After the sun goes down, all the city gates and square gates are closed at the same time. It is technically difficult for you to sneak into a residential area and hide. Tell you what, I'll give you an idea. First, you should try to run south along the street. People in Chang 'an live in the north (the palace and the seat of the government), and the square in the south is sparsely populated, so the urban management inspection will not be so strong. Then, make sure there is no patrol nearby, and try to climb the wall into the square-the wall of the square is not too high, and some may not reach people's shoulders, so it is ok to try to turn over. But when climbing the wall, don't push too hard. Because those walls are made of rammed earth, they are easy to loosen after being weathered by wind, sun and rain. If a large piece of soil is accidentally pushed down and hit the ground, this action may attract onlookers. There is a Wuhou store at the corner of every alley, which is the police station. If the film police want to come out and watch, you will climb this wall for nothing. So is there a ban on night hiding without climbing the wall? Ok ... this ... is also available, but I'm afraid you don't want to use it. The main streets in Chang 'an are very wide, Zhuque Street is 150 meters wide, and there are wide and deep drains on both sides of the street, reaching two to three meters deep. So, if you can hold your nose and jump into the sewer on the street, soak in sewage and rain, and curl up under the wall near the street for one night, it's dark and there are no street lights, so it's estimated that the urban management running all over the street can't see you. Of course, for a long time after that, I was afraid that wherever you went, the masses could smell you. Anyway, if you are lucky enough to avoid the night patrol and stay tired, scared, dirty and smelly until dawn, you can witness a spectacular sight-the bells and drums in the city announce the dawn. Five o'clock in winter and two o'clock in summer (five o'clock one night and five o'clock one night in ancient times). On the rostrum of the main entrance of Taiji Palace, the first dawn drum sounded, and the streets followed the drum tower on the street in turn. As the drums came from the inside out, the gates of the palace, the interior office (imperial city) and the square doors of each lane opened in turn. At the same time, more than 100 temples in the city will also ring the morning bell, and the passionate drums will be intertwined with the deep and distant bells, awakening the whole Chang' an city and welcoming the rising sun in the eastern sky. How many times do you want to beat the dawn drum? It is recorded that it is 300, and it is recorded that it is 3000. But no matter how many sounds you make, you don't knock it all at once, but knock it into several waves and last for a long time. I estimate that if residents are awakened by the first wave of drums in their sleep, get up slowly, get dressed, wash their faces and comb their hair, and go out to the gate of the square, it may be when the second and third waves of drums sound, and the gate of the square has just opened. Anyone who likes to stay in bed and sleep late will get up as soon as the four drums are closed and be in a hurry to clean up. Maybe they can go out to work before the five drums are finished. Of course, some people like to get up early and rush out of the workshop. Before dawn, some people often gather in front of the square, waiting for the drums (Chang 'an people's oral name for street drums) to ring and open the door for release. Next to them, the snack bar in Fangmen started to do business. The firewood under the stove is jumping brightly and enthusiastically, and the shirtless owner Hu Bangbang; The white gas in the steamer is boiling hot; The freshly baked sesame seed cake is golden and crisp, crispy and delicious; Steamed cakes with stuffing bite smoothly; It's up to you whether to add acid or spicy to the soft noodle soup in the big bowl. I'm busy on the road, so it won't be for a while. Do you want to have some breakfast first? If you are in a hurry to go to court and are afraid of being late, the store also provides a packaged takeaway service! Of course, if you are unfortunately seen by the censor and demoted by impeachment, it has nothing to do with the store. When it comes to commercial services in Chang 'an, if you want to go shopping, there are two wrong impressions that must be corrected. One impression is from the modern town fair or the Qingming Riverside Map. Unexpectedly, there are many shops and stalls on both sides of the main street in Chang 'an City, which queue up in turn to attract passers-by business, forcing the traffic on the street to mix with the shopping crowd, making it look bustling. It's a pity that after the Tang Dynasty, we can't see such a scene. Walking on the 38 streets of Chang 'an, you can see the compacted loess pavement under your feet, elms and pagodas lined up on both sides of the road, a deep drainage ditch beside the road, and the walls of various squares outside the ditch. There are eaves in the square wall, deep houses and heavy buildings, and temples. Occasionally, I can see a magnificent house, with its own door open on the wall of the square, and two long halberds lined up at the door, guarded by military slaves. This is the home of princes and nobles with more than three products. Only with the special permission of the system can the door open to the street, and the door of ordinary people can only open to the inside of the square. Shops are not allowed on the street. Where do you want to go shopping? Excuse me, how to get to "East Market and West Market"? These are the two CBD central business districts in Chang 'an City. The Chang 'an people who were stopped by you to ask for directions kindly told you that you should go to Zhuquemen, the south gate of the Imperial City, and walk along the East-West Street. The place that goes three squares to the east is the East Market, and the place that goes three squares to the west is the West Market. Hey, don't panic, it's still early. Even if you rush to the east-west market, the market won't ring and those shops won't open. There are market management committees (municipal departments) established by the government in both East and West Cities. At noon every day, these two cities beat drums 300 times, and shops start to open. Seven minutes before sunset, the gong strikes 300 times, shops close, customers go home, and it is not allowed to play all night. After dark, there will be market security patrols to prevent fire, theft and passers-by. You said the central business district didn't open until afternoon, which was too short? Alas, this is also because of the night ban. Citizens don't start activities until every morning. Civil servants have to go to work in the morning, and businessmen have to stock up in the morning. Chang 'an is too big, and there was no car subway at that time. People who live a little farther away have to walk for most of the day to get to the East City and the West City. The pace of life in the whole society is relatively slow, and it is neither necessary nor economical to open 24 hours a day. As for what can be bought in the east-west market in the afternoon? That's too much. Ladies like to go shopping in silk clothing stores, jewelry stores and rouge pollen shops. Lang Jun will go directly to mule shops, gun depots and saddle shops. Scholars can go to the cemetery bookstore. Farmers pick fruits and vegetables, rice and wheat to sell in the market, and then buy iron hoes and pottery bowls. Merchants take money tickets to the cupboard to store and take them out ... you like to watch the excitement. There are acrobatics, playing the piano and singing fortune-telling in the street. In short, ordinary people use all kinds of things-by the way, now we use the word "things" to refer to all things in the world, and there are many sources, one of which is that the East and West markets of Chang 'an in the Tang Dynasty were all things, so everything we buy is shopping. When it comes to Dongcheng and Xicheng, we have to mention many people's second wrong impression of Chang 'an's commercial services in the Tang Dynasty. Some people say that since shops are not allowed on the street, businesses are concentrated in the east and west markets, and both markets are closed at night, then Chang 'an is a city without night life. There are no shops in residential areas in Li Fang, and the city is deserted and boring, with no bustling atmosphere at all. Don't listen to them, think with your toes, how big is the scale of business activities in a big city with a population of one million, and how can two cities (only four squares out of the city's 100 square) be completely satisfied? As mentioned above, the East-West City is only equivalent to the CBD Central Business District in Beijing and Shanghai. In the residential area of more than 0/00 squares in the city/Kloc, each square has its own small commercial service facilities, which are equivalent to convenience stores, canteens, tailor shops, laundries, vegetable markets and so on. Moreover, the night ban in Chang 'an is mainly aimed at 38 vertical and horizontal main roads, and urban management patrols prohibit walking on the streets at night. As soon as the doors of each square are closed, the night ban in the square is not so strict. When you walk on the cross street of the square and see a policeman coming from the opposite side, you turn around and run into the alley. The marquis of Wu really can't catch you, so you often just turn a blind eye. Fang Li's snack bar mentioned above opened before dawn, and the drums in the street didn't ring, so nobody took care of it, did they? (I guess it is inevitable that the shopkeeper will give the film police benefits. Therefore, this has caused a strange phenomenon: at dusk, the drums in the street ring, and it takes about five waves to beat the drums 800 times. When night falls, the square market closes. There is only moonlight on Chang 'an Avenue, and the dark lights and voices in the two CBD have disappeared, but the square is still lively. Some dignitaries stay up all night in their mansions, drinking and having fun. Guests staying in guest houses have a drink in the same restaurant, flirting with waiter Hu Ji and watching QQ videos, and they will not be caught by the police. There are some Li Fang, the situation is quite special. For example, Pingkangfang, which is adjacent to the west side of Dongshi, is the most famous red light district in Chang 'an, and the famous flowers in Beili live in this square. The Tang Dynasty did not stipulate that officials were not allowed to go whoring. As for the scholars who came to take the imperial examination, it is a semi-official activity to visit their confidants in Pingkangfang. If anyone doesn't go, it's not an honest and clean life, it's rustic. Therefore, after nightfall, although the gate of Pingkang Square is closed, the Qin Lou Chu Pavilion on the square is still illuminated by red candles, singing and dancing, singing in pairs ... Chongren Square in the northwest of Dongcheng is the hotel concentration. After crossing, if you are rich and powerful, but haven't bought a house in Chang 'an, I advise you to find a mansion in Chongrenfang first. To the west of this workshop is the Imperial City (where government agencies are located), so it is very convenient to take the official selection exam. The southeast corner is Dongcheng, which is convenient for shopping. To the south is Pingkang Square, which is convenient for talking with Miss Geisha ... Because of these advantages, this square has become the living center of scholars from other places who come to Chang 'an to choose officials and take imperial examinations. Affiliated restaurants and other service industries are also extremely prosperous, noisy day and night, endless lights, like Chang' an's nightlife center. If you live in this square, you can invite your friends over for dinner or something, so you don't have to worry about finding a normal hotel. However, it should be noted that if your friends live in other places, they can't go back after dinner. You should prepare a room or a bed for others in your own place, or you can sleep in the same bed, watch the stars and the moon from the window, talk about life philosophy from poems and songs, and enjoy the hard-won night life in Chang 'an.
