"Zhenhai roar" is another name for Cangzhou Iron Lion. It is located in the old town of Cangxian County, 20 kilometers away from the center of Cangzhou. It is 3.8m high, 1.5m high, 5.3m high, 6.5m long, 3m wide and weighs about 400 tons. It's head south and tail north, with its head held high and its eyes glaring, its kisses wide open and its limbs open, as if it were running. The word "lion king" on the head is particularly conspicuous and worthy of the name. Li Zeng, a scholar in Qing Dynasty, wrote the poem "The Iron Lion": This giant lion "soars, hangs from the stars, saws melons, and hooks teeth." It's ferocious and leisurely, but at first it's a long-term stop. Tilt your head to the west, absorb the waves in radio and television, sweep your tail to the east, and resist the tide in a mirage. "
In the early years, Cangzhou was called Fuyang County, and there was a Dalian Lake in the south of the city. In the third year of Wei's reign, the flood flooded a place in the lake called Wuqing Village, where houses and temples were washed away, and only the iron lion was safe and sound. From then on, it was called the lion city, which was later the county seat of Cangzhou.
On the left and side of the iron lion's tooth are the words "Guangzhou has been cast for three years, and the continent", and on the right rib are the words "Shandong Li Yunzao". Why cast iron lions in Cangzhou? According to legend, Cangzhou is close to the sea and often suffers from tsunamis. Li Yun, a prisoner, wrote to Zhou Shizong asking for an iron lion to be a dragon. He agreed and took the lead in donating money, while Li called hundreds of local cast iron craftsmen to start construction in front of Kaiyuan Temple. In a year, the iron lion will become a lion, the only thing that can't be integrated. An old man said that man must be sacrificed to the furnace. Li Yunsui jumped into the furnace and the iron lion was cast. That night, the tsunami started, the wind and rain burst and the roar was deafening. It turned out that a black dumpling jumped out of the Bohai Sea and fought to the death with the newly cast iron lion. Fighting until dawn, black dumpling can't stand it, turn around and run, foaming at the mouth as he runs. The iron lion chased him until he reached the seaside. Black Angle left a deep ditch on the way to escape. Legend has it that this deep ditch is today's Heilonggang River, and the salinity of glistening on the ground in Cangzhou is the foam spit out by the black dumpling. Of course, after Blackfoot defeated and fled, the tide also receded. Since then, there has never been a tsunami in Cangzhou, and the people live and work in peace. This is the origin of the iron lion, also known as "Zhenhai roar".
