The former site of Enping County Public Library, commonly known as the Big Bell Tower, is located in West binjiang road, Ximen Neighborhood Committee of Encheng Sub-district Office. Founded in the 18th year of the Republic of China (1929), it was first used as the public library of Enping County, then as the office building of the Armed Forces Department, and was used as the office building of enping city Museum in 2003. Sitting in the architectural style of facing south, brick-concrete structure and combining Chinese and western styles. Total length 18. 1 m, total width 18.54 m, building area of 335.57 m2, building height 18.34 m, totally three floors. 20 12 Guangdong provincial people's government announced that it was the seventh batch of cultural relics protection units in Guangdong province.
Enping city Museum is a state-owned comprehensive museum, which belongs to enping city Culture, Radio, Film and Television Press and Publication Bureau. Now it is located at No.8, Jiang Yan Road, enping city.
Enping Museum was formally established in June, 1984. The original site was built at the top of Aofeng Mountain in Enping. After the devastating flood in June, 1998 caused the building on the top of Aofeng Mountain to become a dangerous building, and the museum was moved twice. In 2003, it moved to the former site of Enping County Public Library (also known as "Big Bell Tower"), and now it is a cultural relic protection unit in Guangdong Province. There are exhibition halls, cultural relics warehouses and offices in the museum.
Enping has a long history, outstanding people, talented people, numerous historical sites and rich historical and cultural resources. By the end of 20 15, there were 3 cultural relics protection units in the city (including 3 provincial cultural relics protection units), and there were more than 5,000 cultural relics in the collection, including pottery, porcelain, jade, iron, calligraphy, painting, coins, bamboo and wood carvings, furniture, ancient books, documents, promotional materials and archives.
Enping Museum has been open to visitors free of charge since June 5438+ 10, 2009. Using the existing collection resources and inter-library resources, the library has carried out various public welfare activities through self-organized, imported and cooperative exhibitions. Every year, we hold/kloc-0 basic exhibitions, more than 6 temporary exhibitions, and organize mobile exhibitions to "enter the community and enter the campus" for more than 2 times, with a cumulative number of visitors of 50,000 per year.
