Reading Picture Books

Three Robbers is a famous picture book. The story is simple, but after reading it, people will fall into deep thinking and think about human nature and the meaning of life. ...

The cover of this book is simple in color, with large pieces of black and dark blue forming a gloomy atmosphere, and the red axe is high above it, which makes people feel uneasy and fearful. At first, I thought it was a terrible story. The content is probably that the three robbers did too many bad things and finally got what they deserved, with no good end.

But geese are not like this.

Let's take a look at this story.

Once upon a time, there were three fierce robbers. They are wearing black cloaks and tall hats. The first robber has a horn gun, the second robber has a pepper spray can, and the third robber has a huge red axe.

Here are three things. I asked my little nephew to identify which robber these belonged to. In fact, they are easy to identify. Everything was arranged, and my little nephew recognized them soon.

Three robbers came out to rob at night. Everyone was scared when they saw them. The woman fainted, the man ran away, and even the dog ran away, so it was really scary. Brave people are afraid to fight them when they see them running away.

Then there was their robbery.

Every time they rob, they spray pepper into the horse's eyes, then chop the wheels of the carriage with an axe, and then drive the passengers away with horn guns and take their belongings. They put the plundered property in a high cave, where the robbers hid and it was full of treasures.

It can be seen that this bandit gang has a clear division of labor and orderly cooperation.

When I was studying with my little nephew, in order to better understand the story, I added a play to the robber and made up a small theater for my little nephew.

Robber 1: Look, brothers, there is a carriage coming ahead. Second, prepare your pepper. Let's go!

The second robber took a watering can and sprayed pepper on the horse's eyes. The horse was out of sight and the carriage stopped.

The third robber picked up a red axe and cut off the wheels of the carriage, so the carriage could not walk!

The first robber drove the people in the carriage down with a horn gun: robbery! Get down.

I think this part is helpful for the baby to remember the three robbers and their belongings, so that the baby can better understand the division of labor among the three robbers and the purpose of each item.

Continue to play

Robber 1: I robbed so many things today. We must put them in our house as soon as possible. Second and third, hurry up, or the moon will set.

Robber 2: Boss, this box is too heavy. I can't carry it. I snore. Hey, I'm so tired!

Robber 3: wheezing, wait for me!

This can make the baby realize that the cave is very high and hidden, and it is not easy for robbers to carry treasures.

Until one day, they met a little girl.

It was a cold night, and they found the little girl in the parked car. She is an orphan and intends to take refuge in her cruel aunt.

Here, I also compiled a small theater for my nephew to deepen the baby's understanding of the story through the dialogue between the little girl and the robber.

Robber: We are robbers, Rob! Huh? Why are you alone, baby?

Little girl: Treasure? I have no treasure, my parents are dead and I have nothing. I'm going to take refuge in my aunt, but she is a cruel person. I don't want to go. You can take me away.

Robber: Is there really no treasure? Well, then I can only take you away.

So the robbers took the little girl away, but the robbers didn't take her away rudely. They wrapped her in a warm cloak and took her away.

After returning to the cave, the robbers made a soft bed and the little girl fell asleep soon.

It can be found here that fierce robbers actually have a warm and gentle side.

The next day, the little girl woke up and found treasures everywhere. She asked the robber a soul question: What are these for?

Only then did the robbers realize that all they knew was robbery, but they never thought about what to do with the stolen treasure.

This is the turning point of the story.

The robbers began to do good deeds. They found many children, lost, abandoned and unfortunate. Anyway, they picked up all the unhappy children. They also bought a beautiful castle and gave each child a place to live.

The painting style has changed from here, and there is no longer a large piece of black in the picture. The children are like beams of light, which dispel the haze in the painting and illuminate the beautiful side of the robber's humanity.

After buying the castle, the child wore a red cloak and a red hat and lived happily in the castle.

Children's clothes are like robbers' clothes, but they are not robbers, but more like angels. If the robber's black cloak represents darkness and evil, then the child's red cloak represents light and kindness. Human nature has a dark side, but it is more beautiful and kind.

Later, many people learned their stories and helped send away the abandoned children. The robbers adopted those children.

The ending of the story is also beautiful. The grown-up children developed the castle. The residents in the castle are all wearing red hats and cloaks. They built many houses around the castle and three towers in memory of their adoptive father.

This is a story of a "wicked man" getting a good reward.

At first, I found it hard to understand. I thought the robbers used the stolen treasure to do good deeds, even if they made atonement. Robbery or robbery are all ill-gotten gains, just like robbing the rich to help the poor in ancient times. Although it seems that the poor have benefited, it has harmed the interests of the rich.

However, how many rich people will share their wealth with the poor, and many of them will intensify their efforts to extract the use value from the poor to increase their wealth.

The rich and the poor are uneven, so there are robbing the rich to help the poor.

In today's society, robbing the rich and helping the poor will definitely be punished by law.

There are still many loopholes in this story. For example, I can understand that they bring unwanted children to the castle, but shouldn't those lost children be sent to their parents? There are also unhappy children. Maybe they are temporarily unhappy. You take them to the castle. If parents can't find them, how anxious they should be!

Many times I can't help but want to vomit, but later I learned that the logic of this story has never been rigorous and can't be treated with the current rules and eyes. After all, this story is a "long, long time ago" story, a fictional air story, not limited by our social rules.

I can read a lot in the story and feel the following aspects:

1. Human nature is complicated.

My nephew said the robbers were bad guys, but no matter how I explained it to him later, he still thought they were bad guys. This is children's basic understanding of "black and white", but human nature is complex, and robbers can't be simply defined as "bad guys" and "good guys".

As soon as the story came out, the robbers, like villains, robbed everywhere, which made people feel scared. How did they become villains? The story is not explained. It may just be a simple robbery, enjoying the fun of robbery and enjoying the feeling that the ground is full of treasures.

The appearance of the little girl aroused the inner softness of the robber. They treated the little girl tenderly. On a cold winter night, they wrapped her in a cloak and took her back to the cave to make her a soft bed.

Here I see the bright spot in their humanity. When I first saw it, I thought they would kill the little girl or tie her back to work as a coolie, but they didn't. They also found the meaning of their lives in the little girl's questions.

Therefore, the robbers were originally kind, but what they experienced at some time in their lives led them astray and became "bad guys". In the little girl's questions, they found their original kind human nature and became "good people" and benefactors of street children.

2. Use of money

Money always makes people greedy and desperate to do something unnatural. Robbers may rob property out of greed for money, but they always only know robbery, but they never want to do anything with it.

Until they found many unhappy children to use these possessions, gave them a home, and let the treasure idle in the cave to complete its mission.

Take and give

At first, robbers robbed passers-by of their property, which was an act of extortion. They are notorious for excessive extortion. People will run away when they see them, and no one wants to get close to them. If they hadn't met the little girl, the three of them would have stayed in the cave with the treasure and lived a sinful life.

After meeting the little girl, they used the treasure to give the homeless children a place to live, and also gave them care and fatherly love. This is an act of giving. Since then, their reputation has spread far and wide, and people even sent abandoned babies, which shows that people know that those abandoned children will have a better life here.

The children also passed on these loves. When they grew up, they built many houses near the castle, formed villages and built a memorial tower for their adoptive father. It can be predicted that a small city will be formed here in the future, and the people inside are also very kind and full of love.

This is a warm story.
