Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica, also known as Classic of Materia Medica or Classic of Materia Medica, is one of the four classic works of Chinese medicine. As the earliest extant TCM works, it originated from Shennong family and was handed down from generation to generation. Books are not written in a short time, and the authors are different. Many medical scientists in Qin and Han dynasties collected, summarized and sorted out the monographs on pharmacological experience at that time, which was the first book in China to systematically summarize traditional Chinese medicine.
Most theories and compatibility laws of TCM and the principle of "seven emotions in harmony" have played a great role in the practice of medication for thousands of years and are the source of the development of TCM theory. Before Li Shizhen published Compendium of Materia Medica, it was always regarded as the most authoritative medical book.
The expanded material "Shennong Herbal Classic" systematically summarizes the medication experience of ancient physicians, and comprehensively and systematically sorts out the mastered drug knowledge. The book contains 365 kinds of drugs, which is consistent with 365 days a year. This is not a coincidence, but the result of the author's intention. In fact, the number of drugs mastered at that time had far exceeded this figure. However, due to the influence of mathematical skills, 365 drugs were selected. "The method is 365 degrees. Once it should be one day, it will be one year old."
Shennong's Classic of Materia Medica not only collects drugs, but also consciously classifies the collected drugs, and divides 365 kinds of drugs into three categories according to upper, middle and lower levels, which is called "three-product classification". Classification is mainly based on the performance and efficacy of drugs.
