There are four stages in the feeling of skin during cold compress: cold? Pain? Burning? When you become numb, you can end the cold compress. Don't stop cold compress prematurely, use hot compress instead. Cold compress at least three times a day for two consecutive days after injury. Four times. For serious injuries, it is recommended to use cold compress for 3 days, and then use hot compress after the swelling has obviously subsided.

The third step is compression.

First, cover the wound with a clean dressing, and press the affected area with hands and bandages to slow down the deterioration of the injury. When bandaging, bandaging should be done upward from a few inches below the wound, with about half of the wound overlapping spirally, and gradually bandaging should be done with average pressure, but it should be relaxed when passing through the wound to ensure smooth blood circulation of the injured limb. Observe the color of exposed toes or fingers. If there are symptoms such as pain, skin discoloration, paralysis and tingling. The package is too tight and should be opened.

The fourth step is promotion.

Raising the wound to the height of the patient's heart can stop bleeding and reduce swelling. If a fracture is suspected, the wound should be fixed with splint before lifting.
