People who don't know the method of "talking in conversation" always find it mysterious, but it is actually very common. Its originality lies in the sentence "stop-doubt-participate"
The so-called "stop" is to ask a question in your mind, such as "Who is chanting Buddha?" "What was the true face of parents before their death? "This sentence itself is a problem, a question! Therefore, when we start a conversation, don't think twice, but immediately experience the feeling of doubt it brings. The kind of "doubt" that you can't answer and don't know the answer is "doubt" After the feeling of doubt is maintained, we will be eager to know the answer. At this time, on top of doubt, we should take a kind of power to see through and examine awareness (similar to the feeling of "seeing" and the role of "sincerity" in Yongjia Zen), which is a kind of mindless awareness. This perception, driven by doubt, has been rushing to the depths of the heart to seek the answer, that is, "participation." "So, the cleverness of the conversation head is completely manifested in the role of doubt in pushing perception to the inner source.
When it comes to dialogue, we must first understand what dialogue is. The simple explanation is that a sentence is called a dialogue before it comes out. If a sentence has come out, it is not a dialogue, but an ending. Conversation, this method, the initial effort can only be called "seeing conversation". What do you think? Is to see where a sentence was before it came out. For example, if you say "Amitabha". Where was the phrase "Amitabha" before it came out of your mouth? In other words, some people say "Amitabha" in their hearts, so before it was born, where was the "Amitabha" in their hearts? Put forward the word "who", and the heart will be fixed on "who". Don't move the word, keep it. Who? ",now there will be a feeling of doubt. At the moment of doubt, never think about the answer; When delusion comes, put "Who? "I feel dizzy when I mention it, and I only focus on" Who? About this problem. Then in Who? On the issue of "participation", the heart does not move to look at photos and investigate, which is "participation" Others like "Who is chanting Buddha?" "What was the true face of parents before their death?" They all have similar functions and are all pursuing "Who? 」。
There were many delusions when I first started studying hard, and the feeling of doubt was easily destroyed by delusions; Slowly, the conversation becomes stable and intensive, and delusions are not easy to come in, so the feeling of doubt can last and the intensity of participation will grow slowly.
Dialogue is as simple as that! There is no profound theory, no tortuous process, and when it comes to breaking doubts, you are enlightened and freed from life and death. Brilliant Zen is like this, simple and powerful. The simpler the better, the better for everyone. This is its beauty.
Why did Zhao Zhou say that dogs have no Buddha nature?
Zhao Zhou, a famous Zen monk, was asked, "Does the dog have Buddha nature?" ? "He said," No ... As we all know, the Buddha said that "all beings have Buddha nature", and dogs are all beings, and of course they also have Buddha nature! Ants and earthworms have Buddha nature, even ghosts and gods have Buddha nature, and dogs certainly have Buddha nature! But why did Zhao Zhou say that dogs have no Buddha nature? Isn't this against the Buddha's teaching method?
So when we ask: Why did Zhaozhou say "nothing"? ",the idea to stop here" nothing ~ ~? "About this problem-why not?" But the heart is not allowed to move, not even a "why", just "nothing? 」; Don't even say "nothing", just doubt. If you can remain skeptical, it is "participation"
Kung fu is on the way, as long as "nothing? When the idea was mentioned, all the ideas were swept away, leaving only "nothing?" Doubt stops here, and further, only doubt. Speaking of doubt, the whole body and mind are in doubt.

A big question
(1) Doubt takes faith as the body, and understanding uses doubt-the cleverness of speaking lies in "doubt". The ancients said that "great doubt leads to enlightenment, small doubt leads to enlightenment, and there is no doubt that ignorance", which just shows the role of doubt in promoting enlightenment. However, the beginning of doubt must be based on confidence in Buddhist practice. I believe that it is life and death to investigate its doubts. Therefore, Zen master Gao Feng said, "There are ten points in faith and ten points in doubt; Very skeptical, very enlightened]
(2) insincere doubt-the so-called insincere doubt is actually a state of participation. "Vivid" refers to alert and conscious photos. We should always feel and trace back the doubts on the topic, but it is not "thought" that affects the mind, but a kind of "centrifugal consciousness"
(3) I was suspicious only on one point-my ancestors said that the ancients were suspicious, but my words were not false, and I only doubted my own life and death. Later generations don't know how to doubt, but they have many delusions, which are used as crutches and stepping stones for our conversation. Therefore, although there are many conversations and different opportunities, there is only one doubt. Therefore, we should only doubt a conversation; Doubts are broken after one conversation, and all doubts are broken. Otherwise, you will get nowhere if you are suspicious in the east and suspicious in the west.

As long as the body can bear it, you can always study hard and don't have to force yourself to sleep. You can sleep again when you are tired.
Dissociated heart weakening
The perception of the conversation head is aimed at doubts. In other words, it only pays attention to doubts and nothing else. Therefore, when the doubt is big enough to cover the whole body and mind, the reaction to the outside world will be sluggish, and if you don't want to cling to and care about it, your heart will naturally weaken. This is a normal reaction of hard work and effectiveness. You should encourage yourself to study more carefully.
Nan: the interlocutor of Zen Buddhism
Now Zen people often say that there is a general idea that Zen is talking, and talking is Zen. Goode said, "The real eye is hidden, but it was destroyed by this blind donkey!" " "Zen purpose is weak, nothing more.
Teachers in the Tang and Song Dynasties all had their own hand-eyes. A single pass is like grabbing a blade with an empty hand. Between words and deeds, the scholar's emotional root consciousness was broken and his purpose was revealed. The so-called killer should also have a living knife. If there is no connection, let him participate. This so-called participant needs people to go to the ground and prove it materially and rationally. That is what the teacher said, thinking is cultivated, not just for thinking. Those who hide their thoughts can still find awareness with consciousness. Participants are beyond the reach of thinking consciousness. The so-called "centrifugal consciousness participation". If we can get rid of the role of mind and consciousness, we can get rid of nothing. Nothing is intentional, nothing is present, and nothing is in the way. At this time, it is just a kind of participation. So the so-called participants don't specifically refer to conversations. Between Song and Yuan Dynasties, Zen had declined. After Zhong Feng, he took part in conversation research and became popular. At the beginning, I saved the disadvantages of crazy Zen, but it was difficult to pull it out through the ages. Until now, it's never out of date to die of old age. I don't know how many!
If you stop, later generations will interpret it as the beginning of a sentence. That is, when a sentence has not started, the key point is to look at this conversation. This kind of conversation is actually a way to watch the conversation, not to participate in the study of sects, but to observe the inner feelings. The original meaning of the person who stopped is "topic", which is this sentence. Why? Why do we have to do that? There are probably two kinds of Zen words: one is meaningful and the other is meaningless. Such as: "How did our ancestors come from the west?" Answer: "Zhou Zhen radish head." "Qingzhou cloth shirt is heavy in 7 pounds." "Ma Sanjin." "dry vector." "The cypress tree in front of the courtyard." Wait, none of this makes sense. For example, "The monk asked Zhao Zhou: Do dogs still have Buddha nature? Status: No! " "Without dreams and thoughts, where is the hero?" "All laws belong to one, and where does one belong?" "Who taught you to drag this dead body?" "Who is chanting Buddha?" Wait, everyone has meaning and taste. Or, without saying a word, only participate in a suspicious case-solving of the ancients, such as a mosquito biting an iron cow and eating it away. This is called participating in a case-solving. It is also similar to meaningful dialogue. The former Zen master Jude was concise and hit the nail on the head, so he regarded it as the second time. Show great wisdom and special kindness.
Huanglong said in the plain language of the thatched cottage: "Be like a civet cat catching mice, without blinking, without touching the ground, without messy roots, from beginning to end." . If Zicheng can do this, so can his heart. Six roots are silent and nothing is lost. "
Great wisdom: I often put it on the tip of my nose, because I didn't know where I came from when I was alive, and I didn't know where to go when I died. In tea, rice, quiet places and noisy places, I often seem to owe others millions and can't get anything out. If you are bored, you can't avoid it, you can't live, you can't save your life, and when you are in trouble, it is the first step of good and evil. When I feel this way, I just concentrate on it and just look at it. The monk asked Zhao Zhou, "Do dogs still have Buddha nature?" Zhao Zhou said, "Nothing!" When you read it, you don't need to be knowledgeable, annotate, or be reasonable. You accept it from the beginning, make sense from the lifting place, fall in from the empty place, realize your own heart, appreciate it from the master, and fall empty. But walking, sitting and lying, always tearing, is the dog still Buddhist? Nothing! Well said, it's not hard to think. Bite pig iron, don't give up if it tastes tasteless. You don't have to ask anyone, and you are naturally freed from the nonsense of the evil teacher. But just looking at the dog is Buddha? Zhaozhou Day: None! (Answer to Chen Jishi) Scholar-officials studied Taoism, which is very different from my becoming a monk. There is another metaphor: "For example, on the plateau land, there is no lotus, and the sludge is wet, but this flower is born." I am a monk, and I am a scholar-bureaucrat. Those who fight outside are weak and those who fight inside are strong; The strong say that the good place is heavy and the strong place is strong; The weak, that is, the good places are light and the places are few. Although the strength is strong and weak, the good is also one.

If you can't tell, today is good, tomorrow is good, we are all unified, and there will be great doubts about where to go and where to go. It is talking, forgetting everything, knowing the way, being quiet and doing nothing; Suddenly, a puzzle appeared and it exploded to the ground. So straight that Mount Sumi is broken, and the earth is flat and heavy. After the sun goes in and out, it shines on the mountains and rivers and can't be hidden. From these words, we can know that from the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the way of meditation gradually changed, and finally became the first way to participate in conversation. The theory of talking heads is developing vigorously, and the true face of Zen is extinct! Zongmen and meditation are inseparable. Dahuigao only teaches people how to talk and how to use labor, and there is no other teaching. According to Wan, there are meditation efforts and doubts. Naturally, in the days to come, talking, doing things and doubting feelings will often be very confused. Calendars have been handed down to this day and collected from many seats. Try to discuss it briefly.
1. Conversation topics can be divided into two categories: (1) Just give an idea, read a conversation topic, and when you haven't read it, look back to see where it came from. Where are you going?
(This method can also be described as looking at the end of a sentence) or whether it is empty (empty), so employing people is actually a way of observing words and feelings, and it is a disguised conversation ear. However, I can use my ambition to collect six kinds of thoughts and return to this thought. Over time, I occasionally see that the previous thoughts have been extinguished, and the later thoughts have not yet been born. When I think about it, I have nothing. This heart is in this body, and suddenly it is silent. Heart light hair, San Ji hanging in the air. At this time, the external situation of Liu Chen, such as dreams in the environment, is illusory and illusory, and I can't get up; Even if there is a rise, it is as easy to break as a hairspring, which does not hinder this silence. Scholars often think that they have realized this when they come here. If you are in this situation, wisdom will flourish. The so-called wisdom always grows from the heart. Or there are always bad words, it is also poetry, which is light of body and mind and unparalleled. What's more, I may be overjoyed, but I don't know why. Or tears, I don't know why. What's more, you can see the mountains and rivers as a mirror, the water and the moon as a picture, and there are fruits in your palm. Even if you hear insects, such as listening to Lei Zhen, you will hear thousands of miles, not every millionth. All this and so on, once persevered, will be enchanted, which is called Zen disease. At this time, if there is no master, it is often hopeless, but sleeping can be cured. It should be noted that this is a long-term effort, and the mind is suddenly empty, light and shadow are flowing, and loneliness is occasionally exposed. At this point, we should take our eyes off each other and put them down, so there is no need to look at our own thoughts. If there are vivid images, even laughing and crying, chanting poems, etc. , are born of delusion, but very subtle, difficult to detect. If there is no delusion, who will feel knowledge? The difference of thousands of miles cannot be ignored. (2) When you mention a word, you start to doubt the situation (the so-called skeptic has an unsolvable heart, not a question of guessing what is going on). At first, the conversation was intermittent, delusions were flying all over the sky, doubts seemed to be absent, and there was no intimate relationship. Over time, my words had an effect, my doubts were aroused, and my heart was in chaos. If there is something that hinders me, I want to vomit, but I can't stop. Sitting in tea can do nothing, be careless about the situation, and be silly. If you feel unwell and sick at this time, don't exert yourself. You should relax your mind, adjust your body and teach yourself to be comfortable, or you can relax your mind and stop studying. Otherwise, it is easy to get Zen disease, or vomit blood, or go crazy. I will let my body calm down, feel refreshed, and directly doubt. Suddenly I can't mention it. I doubt there is anything like this, I said there is nothing like this. I can't move my body. Six dollars is useless, only some sub-tubes are used. If you don't participate, you can't let go, and suddenly you are physically and mentally exhausted. You don't know the time after sitting for a long time. At this time, it is said that it is a good time to be suspicious. Generally speaking, it is necessary for important people to start a conversation at this time before they participate. If there is, people will put it down. The latter, often nothing. In the former, arrows often fly over the Western Heaven and take Wan Li Road. If there is a master who knows the pearl, you can make him self-evident and willing by showing your hands and eyes. Or those big roots suddenly touch things and meet fate, open the paint bucket and admit the past. However, there are indeed many Zen people who fall into this kind of situation. Don't say that you don't understand, that is, knock over the paint bucket and let it go, that is, it is clear and clear. I just recognized this. You should say that you have a clear mind and a clear mind. You will have a thorough understanding and a bright future in the eighty-one difficulties. Don't generalize, be arrogant and willful, deceive yourself, deceive yourself!
Second, do the work. This is also the alias of the commonly known concept of cultivation. Today, as far as meditation is concerned, there is quite a lot to say. You can walk in the Zen Gate at work, for work or for daily use. If it is unclear, it belongs to conversation, as simple as the above. Today, those who say that they are clear-headed are empty in body and mind when they first meet, and there is nothing left. Mountains and rivers, people and sentient beings are all integrated, as in the great round mirror. Although I can't stand thinking separately, I know what I have seen and learned, such as birds flying in the air, the breeze is sparse, and I have no obstacles. The mind is clear and quiet, like the clear sky in Wan Li, and the body is light and happy, like the spring breeze blowing catkins. At this time you must be appointed (guarantor, meaning to protect freedom). Some people, that is, under the forest on the hillside, are full of self-restraint. Or have a cover to enter the customs and put an end to the outer edge. These are all straight edges, which Shangyi focuses on. If you are in the world, doing ordinary things, trying to keep your job in a busy field and a colorful place, the fact is very difficult. A little carelessness will lead to this situation. Once the play will go, it is not easy to turn again. However, those who are powerful in Tao and extremely smart people will know each other at any time when they face each other. Although, at this point, I have to lose my family, and I have to sneak into the secret passage. I can only support myself and teach myself silently. Over time, suddenly one day, or for a while, this place was released, and my body and mind were silent. If I forget, people and my world have been thrown there, and there is no way to exist. If the ice disappears into the water, there is no trace. The so-called "antelope hangs its horns without a trace, and the east wind is full of air." At this time, it will take a short time, a few days, or even longer. I woke up suddenly, as if the rain had cleared up. Those who disturbed me in the past were like yesterday's dreams. This kind of mind is silent, just like in a dream mirror. "I don't care about anything, why don't I always focus on everything?" But at the beginning, those who came across unconsciously and accidentally could do nothing about their own decisions. Occasionally or once, or often, are lucky. For example, if a blind cat meets a dead mouse, there is nothing to be done. I worked hard for a long time, and I caught the dregs. I wanted to throw them there anytime and anywhere, that is, away from the world. If you want to turn over here, you will get off there. It can be seen that the true meaning of coming and going is empty, and the present of Buddhism is the past. Although, it was still not enough, until the pulse slowed down and Liushen used it and felt comfortable. Everyone knows, for the sake of self-explanation of work, not to mention obvious. This is the place where Saman is forbidden. At this point, can be said to be enlightened? Say: I don't understand or understand, it's still a matter of time! Weishan said, "Only your son saw the facts, not your son's behavior." All the sharp weapons are words, a pile of old rotten kudzu vine, why catch it? It's normal for you to stand tall. How can a gentleman be here? However, "the mountains stand high and the sea is deep." Fancy renovation, the same as the old version. But remember, the first is the last, and the last is the first. Buddhism is based on theravada theory, full of mysterious Mahayana journey, and there is nothing strange about it. If you persist in these efforts, you can't get rid of the law, and you are crazy. From the Zen point of view, Xiao Zhi's ears are always dull! Gu is really an experienced man. He knows where he lives at a glance without waiting for the economist to ask questions. The life root of a scholar is in his own hands, and skillful practice is all corresponding. If you know how to understand a disciple, you only know how to tell the truth. If you can talk like a parrot, there is nothing in the middle. When a scholar comes to the front for instructions, it is often a horse talk that misleads others' children and doesn't know it. Most of them do. What a pity! True knowledge is good. Every scholar who asks for instructions in the room should observe carefully, decide when to stop and see what to give, so as to make a corresponding response. For example, if a scholar is ill in the cold, he should be given hot medicine. If you have heatstroke, you should apply a cooling agent. If it is normal, whether it is corresponding or not, just teach people to stop. If it is a party with various diseases, it will definitely lead to many people's lives!
Just like Goodall said, "The belly is surrounded by three times, the incense burner is ancient, cold and cold, cold and gray, and it takes a thousand years to practice white." "If you want to know this, you must die many times." "This matter is like a dead tree and flowers, such as cold gray beans." "Cliff, voluntary. If you return to the Soviet Union after death, you can't bully the king. " Such words were revealed by the Zen master. Working in the field is the same as seeing something, which is not just a verbal thing. However, it depends on the extent to which scholars treat diseases. It is useless to pick up the wisdom of the ancients and pretend to be good knowledge, such as displaying ancient Chinese characters and arranging them blindly. If that's the case, if all you think about is sleeping, don't use it in actual meetings. But why do you have to say that? For example, if someone sings "River of No Return" with iron plates and copper arpeggios, he might as well take a red-toothed ebony board and sing "Yang Liuan, the breeze is getting weaker" in a low voice. Why is this happening? You said: Even if the wind blows away overnight, it is only in the shallow waters of Lu Hua.
