About 6.5438+0.7 million years ago, Yuanmou in Yunnan was a subtropical grassland and forest, where tertiary animals such as deer and ungulates lived and multiplied. The Discovery Process of Yuanmou Man
1965, scholars such as, Pu went to the vicinity of Shangnabang village to look for fossils. At that time, under the guidance of an old cowherd, they came to the ravine about 1 km west of Bangcun to look for fossils. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon, a man found the fossil of Yunnan horse under a earthen bag, and then found two human front teeth.
1February, 972, this discovery was identified and published by Hu Chengzhi, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. Hu Chengzhi published the article "Discovery of Ape's Tooth Fossils in Yuanmou, Yunnan" in the Journal of Geology 1973.
