Thoughts on Reading Ye Jiaying's Poems by Du Fu (1)

I liked Li Bai better when I was a teenager. I like his free and easy way of "laughing face upwards and going out, my generation is wormwood". I also appreciate his affectation that "Dapeng rises with the wind one day and soars in Wan Li". Of course, I also have Fu's great ambition to "climb to the top of the mountain and see that the mountain is at its end" and appreciate the gorgeous colors in "birds in the river are too white and blue flowers in the mountains are burning". But I don't have a systematic understanding of Du Fu. Now I have read Ye Jiaying's book Ye Jiaying on Du Fu's Poems, and I have a comprehensive understanding of Du Fu.

? There was a time when I was in high school that I liked reading Song Ci. At that time, I liked sad and beautiful words: clouds break the moon and flowers make shadows, people are thinner than yellow flowers, and golden partridges are painted on the screen. Clear words and beautiful sentences are easy to bring intuitive beauty to people, and we modern people are too easy to attract attention. Du Fu's poems are usually not beautiful, and they are all written with heavy realistic themes. In addition, we are far away from the era of Du Fu today. We are well fed, addicted to social networks and busy making money to support our house. Du Fu's sadness and joy are not our feelings. Teacher Ye Jiaying is like a bridge, connecting the ancient Du Fu with us now. She interprets Du Fu with classical cultivation, approaches Du Fu with life experience in war, and understands Du Fu with childlike innocence.

? Speaking of Du Fu, it is inevitable to compare him with Li Bai. Li Bai flies, Du Fu is calm. Li Bai is a cloud flying in the sky, and Du Fu is a mountain standing firmly on the ground. Li Bai is an extraordinary genius. He is flying, which is exciting. There is an irresistible force in his poems, which is the ultimate glory of the prosperous Tang Dynasty and the glory of the whole feudal society in China in its heyday. Du Fu is a genius in the normal state. He is heavy and wide. There is a real and heavy power in his poems. It is an elegy that the weather will decline in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, and it is also an infinite sadness in the face of historical laws. Du Fu was frivolous in his early years, hit a wall in his middle-aged career and wandered endlessly in his later years. In a narrow sense, he may have failed all his life. Then why can his poems spread in the long river of history and be loved by people?

? Du Fu's poems are not based on his own feelings, but go deep into life, face life directly, love beauty, lash out at ugliness and not avoid ugliness. His poems are not beautiful, but seeking truth, written with blood and tears. Du Fu is great because he was born in an era that can be summed up. He loves his country and nation, and has deep feelings like others' love, and his feelings for the country and nation, his family and his wife are equally deep and heavy. This is an important reason why Du Fu is a poet.

? Throughout Du Fu's life, we will find that the Du Fu he became was not the Du Fu he wanted to be. His life has been constantly dealing with poverty, hunger and disease, and the world is full of losses for him. However, what Du Fu presents us is complete, not just a highly simplified and labeled side of "worrying about the country and the people and patriotism". By writing about sufferings, he resists the simplification of people and guards his own richness.

Du Fu wrote in "500 words from Beijing to Fengxian": "If you leave, you will be hungry, and your youngest son will die." "Shame on being a father, die without food." As soon as he entered the house, he heard not the laughter and laughter that greeted him, but the cries of a family. His youngest son died of hunger and cold. As a father, he was ashamed. He couldn't raise him when he had children, and he didn't have food, which caused him to starve to death at such a young age. What a great sorrow and shame this should be. As most people write here, his family has suffered so much misfortune that he should be completely overwhelmed by his own sorrow and have no mind to care about others. But this is what makes Du Fu great.

Du Fu said: The residence is always tax-free, and the name is not levied. The traces are still sour and pungent, and people are solid. Others write their own sorrows and sorrows, and they also write their own sorrows and sorrows, but Du Fu always thinks of others' sorrows and sorrows from his own propaganda of sorrows and sorrows. He said he was lucky because he was a scholar, belonged to the scholar class, and had always been a small official, so he didn't have to pay rent or join the army like a rural farmer. But people like him who log duty-free are still so sad after the famine, not to mention the ordinary people. Du Fu is such a great realistic poet. From his own misfortune, he thought of the misfortunes of more people poorer than himself in the country. His poems are not only about himself, but also about the country and people. So, I further understood his ideal of "being the most noble and gentle, and then making the folk customs simple".

In this world, some people are really born to save people from suffering. As a poet who cares about the country and the people, Fu did not bring any positive influence to the state affairs at that time, but his poems were handed down and influenced countless people with his spirit. Only after having a certain life experience, can we read Du Fu's poems, so as to understand his generosity and kindness and his deep affection for the country more deeply.

Walk into Du Fu, walk into a poet, or just pay tribute to his life as an ordinary person. Not because of his brilliant literary talent, but because he can draw such rich colors in such a dark background and bloom such gorgeous flowers in such barren soil, his indomitable power to tap life is admirable!
