In the spring of 200 1 year, I went to Shanghai on business. Before returning to Beijing, I came to the famous Dongtai Road Antique Market. This open-air market on both sides of the street is called "Shanghai Antique Street". In fact, most of the items on the market are fakes.
In this market full of fake antiques, there is a very humble small bookstore. This shop covers an area of less than six square meters and is full of old books, newspapers and magazines. The owner of this small bookstore is an old gentleman named Xiang. His predecessors used to buy and sell ancient books for a living, and his son was also keen to inherit his ancestral business, making him famous in the ancient books collection circle. I have been in contact with Xiang Jia for many years and bought many ancient books and maps from them. Every time I go to Shanghai on business, I always take time to go to this small bookstore to see if there is anything worth collecting.
It was a godsend for me to go to the bookstore. As soon as I entered the store, I saw Mr. Xiang hanging a shabby map of the world on the wall (see illustration 1). In the upper right corner of this map, it says "General Map of the World", and in the lower left corner, it says "Gan Longgui did not imitate the tribute map of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the 16th year of Yongle". On the left side of this note, there is an inscription: "Minister, painted by Mo Yi." These words indicate that this world map is the world map of 14 18.
