Li Shiyu (1922-2010.12.29), librarian of Tianjin Literature and History Research Center, famous historian and sociologist. Born in Tianjin in February 1922, he graduated from the Department of Sociology and the Department of Anthropology of the Graduate School of Fu Jen Catholic University, and received a master's degree in 1948. In 1982, he won the Henry Luce Scholarship from the United States and was awarded the title of lifelong "Loos Scholar". He has worked at Fu Jen Catholic University, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, Tianjin Normal University, "History Teaching" magazine, Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House and other units. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Pennsylvania and Gakushuin University in Japan. He has been invited to give lectures in the United States, Japan, Canada, Britain, France, Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria and other countries as well as the treasure island of Taiwan.
