Yunnan University for Nationalities Yunnan University for Nationalities is a comprehensive university that trains senior professionals of all ethnic groups. It is a provincial-level key university determined by the Ministry of Education, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Yunnan Provincial People's Government. The school was founded in August 195 1, formerly known as Yunnan University for Nationalities, and is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning for nationalities founded by the people of China. In April 2003, it was renamed Yunnan University for Nationalities.
