Professor Lu Xun gave lectures for many years and served in the Ministry of Education and the Department of Social Education of the then National Government. At that time, drama was originally in this department. Due to the needs of his position and interest, Lu Xun has a special liking for China's operas. Shaanxi Opera is the originator of various operas in China, and is known as the "living fossil" of China operas. When Lu Xun came to Ann, how could he miss the great opportunity to enjoy Qin Qin Feng Yun?
When Lu Xun arrived in Xi, he didn't care about Shaanxi Opera at first. Three days ago, after the lecture, he visited the forest of steles, bought antiques, and began his exploration tour of the ancient capital with great interest.
Lu Xun was invited to the Yi Sushe Theatre in Xi. For the arrival of this literary giant, Yi Sushe took out his own housekeeping drama "Double Jinyi" and performed the first half of the book. The play was created by Lv Nanzhong, a well-known screenwriter of Shaanxi Opera, according to The Chronicle of Song History, and premiered at xi 'an Yi Sushe Theatre on 1920. In the play, the role of Shaanxi opera is complete, with birth, Dan, purity and ugliness appearing one by one. Mr. Lu Xun was still wanting more, and he came to see the second half the next day.
From then on, Mr. Lu Xun fell in love with this ancient art that has been circulating for thousands of years, and on the third day, that is, in July of 18, he came to Yi Sushe for the third time to watch the Great Filial Piety. Indulging in drama, I wrote "The Moon is Bright" in my diary that night to express my feelings. A week later, on July 26th, Lu Xun, accompanied by his student Wang Jie III, came to the Yi Sushe Theatre again and watched A Full Moon Night. According to Sun Fuyuan, a student who accompanied Lu Xun to the theatre at that time, who was also known as the "king of supplements" at that time, he recalled: "Mr. Lu Xun used to like drama and had the ability to appreciate opera, so he was very satisfied with these programs performed by Yi Sushe. Every time he watches a performance, he is always full of praise. He thinks Xi 'an is remote and the traffic is inconvenient. It is really commendable to have such a drama club that advocates social education and plays a role in changing customs. "Give a plaque with the inscription" Ancient Music Solo ".
1924 On August 3, the day before he left Xi 'an, Mr. Lu Xun, who was not rich, generously donated 50 yuan to Yi Sushe to help solve the financial difficulties of Yi Sushe Opera School and Theatre. That night, Liu Zhenhua, then governor of Shaanxi Province, gave a farewell dinner to Lu Xun and his party at Yi Sushe Theatre, which was the last time that Lu Xun came to Yi Sushe to watch the Shaanxi Opera. Sun Fuyuan recalled: "That time coincided with the 12th anniversary of the founding of Yi Sushe. In order to congratulate Yi Sushe on his achievements, Mr. Lu Xun wrote the words "solo classical tune" and made a plaque for Yi Sushe. On the plaque, besides Mr. Lu Xun's autograph in Zhou Shuren, there are many scholars in the same field. Today, this plaque is a very memorable object. "
When Mr. Lu Xun worked in the department of social education, he always sent people to the theater or asked the troupe to send the script to the Ministry of Education for examination and approval in order to introduce and popularize it. In Yi Sushe, he saw the 1920 gold medal awarded to Yi Sushe by the mass education research institute of the Ministry of Education. This recognition is related to Lu Xun's emphasis on drama reform when he was in the education department.
In less than a month, Lu Xun watched Shaanxi Opera five times in Yi Sushe Theatre and made an unusual love. Today, the plaque of "solo in ancient tune" still hangs in the front hall of Yi Sushe Theatre, which is the only commemoration of that era. During the period of 1996, in the activity of "commemorating the bicentennial of Huiban's coming to Beijing" organized by the Ministry of Culture, the inscription of "solo in ancient tune" appeared in Beijing Jixiang Theatre. The thunderous applause at the scene once again confirmed that Mr. Lu Xun not only had a special liking for Yi Sushe and Shaanxi Opera, but also reflected the close combination of Yi Sushe's spiritual connotation and New Culture Movement thought.
