1. At present, there are probably three opinions about the author of the Romance of Gods: one is Lu Xun's Xu Lun (Lu Xun, A Brief History of Chinese Novels, Beijing: People's Literature Publishing House,198, 170); Second, Lu Xixing's On Sun Jiedi and Liu Cunren (Sun Jiedi's Bibliography of China Popular Novels, Beijing: People's Literature Publishing House, 1982, p. 196- 197; Liu and Chen Cunren (Liu Cunren), The Influence of Buddhism and Taoism on China's Novels, vol. 1, the author of Shen Feng Yan Me, Otto Harrassowitz, Wiesbaden,1962); The third is Zhang's theory of promise and cooperation (Zhang's Preface to the Romance of Gods, included in the Romance of Gods). The newly edited version (Nanjing; Jiangsu Ancient Books Publishing House, 199 1), p. 1- 13; Zhang, Make-up Examination of the Authors of the Romance of Gods, Journal of Fudan University (Social Science Edition), 1992-4, pp. 90-98). This paper does not discuss the author himself, but only tries to discuss the author's conception from the analysis of the source of the story. The so-called "author" here is the so-called "author change" of the Romance of the Gods based on the materials such as Comment on the King of Wu, Biography of the Countries and various folklore.
