Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, founded in 1954, is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of Chinese medicine in China, and a state-level "world-class discipline construction university" jointly established by the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu Province.
It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and state administration of traditional chinese medicine, a key construction university in Jiangsu Province, an international acupuncture training center determined by the Ministry of Health, the first batch of authorized units for doctoral and master's degrees in China, and a national key protection unit for ancient books.
