How did the name "weeping willow" come from Chaoyang District, Beijing?

There are no allusions.

When weeping willows were founded, it was absolutely a wilderness.

1949 liberation map of Beiping, with no sign of weeping willows outside Guangqumen. Policymakers at that time could not imagine that there would be the Internet, genome or AIDS in the near future.

According to the expansion speed of Beijing from Liaoning, Nanjing, Jinzhongdu, Yuandadu to Peiping for more than 1000 years during the Republic of China, they decided that weeping willows would still belong to a wild land before Beijing became a desert, so they moved all heavy industries here for centralized management. Who would have thought that less than fifty years later, Beijing has become a big city with its teeth bared.

An East Third Ring Road runs through Dabei Kiln, Tonghui Canal and weeping willows from north to south, provoking a so-called central business district where offices, restaurants and bars are concentrated.

Extended data

The demolition of weeping willows began at the end of June 38, 2008+10. Later, due to various reasons, the project was in a state of stagnation, and now it has been included in the reserve project of shantytown renovation plan (referring to the project that meets the conditions of shantytown renovation, but the preliminary work did not have the conditions for signing the renovation agreement, moving and vacating or maintaining and strengthening in the same year).

Rebuilding weeping willows is very difficult. The district government and relevant departments have held coordination meetings for many times to study solutions. Chaoyang District Construction Committee and Shuangjing Sub-district Office have done a lot of coordination and preparation work, and actively urged Beijing Qi Teng Real Estate Development Company to handle the project loan financing, and sorted out the relevant demolition policies and plans.
