The nuclear surface of polynuclear iron hydroxide (ⅲ) is surrounded by a large number of non-valence sucrose molecules, thus forming a complex with an average molecular weight of 43kDa. This macromolecular structure can be avoided from being eliminated from the kidney. This complex is stable in structure and will not release iron ions under physiological conditions. The structure of iron surrounded by polynuclear core is similar to ferritin in physiological state.
The use of this product will cause physiological changes, including iron intake.
This product has low toxicity. The Ld50200 iron/kg body weight of mice after intravenous injection of this product, so the therapeutic index is about 30(200/7).
