1. There are 654.38 million overseas Chinese in Russia, mainly distributed near Moscow and in the Far East and Siberia. In addition, there are more than 8,000 self-funded international students from China.
Most of the overseas Chinese of the older generation came to China around the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC) and during the China Cultural Revolution. Most of them are engaged in manual labor or service industries. A new generation of overseas Chinese basically entered China around the 1990s. Among them, 90% are engaged in the import and export business of clothing, shoes, hats, leather goods, vegetables, grain and wood, and the rest 10% are engaged in services such as restaurants, hotels and bars.
There are more than a dozen overseas Chinese organizations in Russia, among which influential ones are: China Association for Promoting Peaceful Reunification of Chinese Living in Russia, Moscow Overseas Chinese Federation, Moscow China Chamber of Commerce, Russian Far East Sino-Russian Federation of Industry and Commerce, Moscow China Women's Federation and so on. The above-mentioned institutions maintain regular contact with the Russian Embassy in China, the domestic overseas Chinese affairs departments and other institutions. They have shown a high degree of patriotic enthusiasm in all major events, unswervingly supported and safeguarded the great cause of the motherland's reunification, and opposed any form of Taiwan Province independence. Some activities organized by them have had a good influence in the local area. Last August, the global promotion meeting of overseas Chinese promoting the peaceful reunification of China was successfully held in Moscow, which strongly supported the great cause of peaceful reunification of the motherland.
China's ambassador to Russia, Liu Guchang, said that overseas Chinese living in Russia have made tangible contributions to the motherland in their respective posts and played an irreplaceable role in enhancing Sino-Russian friendship, understanding and cooperation. Facts have proved that the vast number of Russian compatriots are an important force in the development of the motherland, national rejuvenation, reunification of the motherland and Sino-Russian friendship.
There are nearly 10 Chinese media in Russia, among which influential ones are Moscow Chinese Newspaper, Dragon Newspaper, Huashang Daily, Lu Xun, China-Russia Times and Moscow Evening News. It has played an active role in publicizing relevant policies and guidelines of China and Russia, introducing national conditions and transmitting information.
There are 30,000 Chinese in haskell, including the Han nationality living in the world.
