Where are the antique markets in Hong Kong and Taipei? Urgent need!

Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan antique market scanning Due to well-known reasons, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan provinces have been separated from the mainland for a long time. Even now, personnel exchanges between the three places and the mainland are still not convenient, and there are still many restrictions on entry and exit management. For these reasons, we are full of curiosity and lack of understanding about the antique markets in the three places, which is a pity. Influenced by the economic form and management mode, the markets in the three places are obviously different from those in the mainland of China. Mainly because they basically adopt the traditional pavement management mode, which is relatively scattered and there is no such large-scale market as the mainland antique city. Therefore, at least on the surface, they are not as prosperous as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Xi.

To Taobao in the three major markets, the grade and price of the collection are undoubtedly the things that players are most concerned about, but in addition, we should also pay attention to the relevant legal provisions. In Hong Kong and Macao, the antique market environment is extremely relaxed, and all kinds of cultural relics can be publicly traded and enter and leave the customs as long as they come from the right sources. In Taiwan Province Province, the local laws expressly stipulate that "national treasures and important antiquities are not allowed to leave the country", which has strict restrictions but unclear grading standards. Mainland collectors should be prepared in this regard.

Hong Kong: National Treasure Return Transit Station

Of these three antique markets, Hong Kong is undoubtedly the most developed one. In Hong Kong, which has the reputation of "shopping paradise", antiques and artworks are also an important part of its shopping consumption and enjoy a high reputation internationally.

Hong Kong's antique market is developed because of its special economic status. During the 30 years from the liberation of the Mainland to the reform and opening up, Hong Kong has been the main window for economic exchanges between China and western countries, and also the main channel for overseas cultural relics to return to the motherland. Nowadays, several major international auction companies hold exhibitions in Hong Kong every year, with more and more national treasures and more important market positions. Of course, it is difficult for ordinary players to participate in such a high-level auction, so let's go to an antique shop.

According to incomplete statistics, there are about 300 antique shops in Hong Kong, mainly concentrated in hollywood road, Moro Street and Gule Road around the famous scenic spot Wuwen Temple. Among them, there are more than 0/00 shops in hollywood road, large and small/KLOC, with many signboards and great excitement. Not far from Hollywood Road are Moro Street and Gule Road, with relatively few shops, roughly between 30 and 40. Hollywood road is one of the oldest streets in Hong Kong and one of the top ten shopping streets in the world. The location of the business center makes its transportation extremely convenient.

It should be noted that Hong Kong antique shops are generally closed on weekends and legal holidays, and even if they are open, their business hours will be shortened. Therefore, Tibetan friends in the mainland try to avoid it these days. One more thing, it is generally believed that most genuine antiques in Hong Kong are highly reliable. However, according to industry sources, in fact, the Hong Kong market has also been severely impacted by fake antiques in recent years, and a large number of fakes have poured in and become increasingly rampant, which has endangered the international reputation of Hong Kong antique shops.

Macau: There is something extraordinary in plain.

The history of Macao antique market development is relatively short. Before the 1980s, there were almost no decent antique shops in Macau. Since the reform and opening up, the smuggling of cultural relics in the mainland has been on the rise, and a large number of collections have been transported overseas through Hong Kong and Macao, which has promoted the development of Macao antique market. However, compared with Hong Kong, Macao's antique industry has a big gap in both scale and influence. According to reports, at present, there are only more than 40 shops and stalls dealing in antiques in Macao, most of which are scattered around famous scenic spots such as the March 38 th and Mazu Pavilion, and a few large-scale shops are concentrated in the front line of the Nanwan business circle.

For ordinary collectors, there are several stall-style antique second-hand market in Macau, namely, Sao Paulo Archway Market, Honggong Temple Market and Haojiang Market, which are located in the city center, west of the city and east of the city. Macao's land area is less than 30 square kilometers, which is very narrow and the transportation is very convenient. The above markets are not far apart and easy to find.

Macao antique market is small, but there are many buried treasures. Generally speaking, Macao antiques are mainly porcelain and jade, which have a high reputation in the domestic collection field. As everyone in the industry knows, Guangdong antique shops have always preferred porcelain, while Macao is comparable to Guangzhou market in porcelain.

Taiwan Province Province: A National Treasure Hidden in Treasure Island.

Among the three markets, Taiwan Province Province has the richest collection resources. 1949, the Kuomintang government was defeated and withdrew from the mainland. With numerous extremely precious national treasures, it almost emptied the entire Palace Museum (a Palace Museum was later rebuilt in Taiwan Province Province). At the same time, a large number of national government officials, senior officers, landlords and capitalists fled to Taiwan Province Province with a large number of various cultural relics. The above two points made Taiwan Province Province become the most concentrated area of China's antiquities in a short time, and then the antique market in Taiwan Province Province developed rapidly.

Up to now, the mainland has rarely introduced the antique market in Taiwan Province Province, which is very strange. According to a small amount of data collected by the author, the antique market in Taiwan Province Province experienced two obvious periods of prosperity and development in 1950s and 1970s respectively, but it was relatively dull in recent years.

The antique market in Taiwan Province Province is relatively mature and developed, and all major cities on the island have corresponding antique trading markets. Take Taipei as an example. There are more than 100 antique shops in the city, most of which are concentrated in Zhongshan North Road, Renai Road and Bade Road. These three streets have become famous antique streets in Taipei. Some shops are exquisitely decorated, antique and charming.

Outside Taipei, the market layout of other cities is more dispersed. For example, there are dozens of shops in Taichung City located in Wuquan West Street, Dalong Road, Linsen Road and Dongxing Road, while Kaohsiung City is mainly located in Guangzhou Street, Xiamen Street, Qixian Third Street, Zhongzheng Road and Dafeng Road.

In recent years, there are more and more mainland tourists visiting Taiwan Province Province, but there are still many inconveniences compared with Hong Kong and Macao. Another point is that the authorities of Taiwan Province Province have very strict control over the exit of cultural relics. I believe that with the passage of time, the above problems will gradually ease.
