What is this book about the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty and the important classics of China, Xinjiang and Buddhism?
Xuanzang left Gaochang in the autumn of the third year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty (629) to seek dharma, went through various parts of the western regions, and returned to China in the early 19th year of Zhenguan. When he returned to Luoyang to meet Emperor Taizong, Emperor Taizong asked him to describe his journey to the West and write a biography of the western regions. So Master Xuanzang dictated his layman's eloquence to compile this book according to his own travels, and completed it in July of the following year. The book describes the 1 10 countries experienced by Master Xuanzang, as well as the general situation of 28 cities, regions and countries, including territory, climate, mountains and rivers, customs, language, religion, Buddhist temples and a large number of historical legends and fairy tales. In order to study the history, geography, religion, culture and communication between China and the West in the Middle Ages, it is also an important document for studying Buddhist history and Buddhist cultural relics. In recent years, the ruins of India's Nalanduo Temple, the former site of King Snake City, the ancient Rokuya Temple and Ajanta Grottoes have been exposed and reappeared, and the records of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty have made indelible contributions in this regard. Although this book is a local chronicle, it is generally compiled in the order of travel itinerary. The book is divided into three parts: the first part is the first volume, which is divided into three sections. The first section is the preface of Master Xuanzang.
