Zhengyi School was founded by Shi Tian's ancestor Zhang Daoling, whose ancestral home is located in Shitianfu, Longhu Mountain, Jiangxi Province. Zheng's major is Fu Yong's musical instrument. The Taoist paintings you see in film and television works, as well as the instruments of fasting by skilled Taoist priests, belong to the orthodox school. Quanzhen School was founded by Wang Zhongyang, the founder of Quanzhen School. In Jin Yong's martial arts novels, there are stories of seven sons. Now there are many branches of Quanzhen School, such as Longmen School, Huashan School and Wutang School. They focus on Dan Dao and pursue the ideological realm of harmony between man and nature and long life.
Compared with the strict precepts of the Quanzhen ten-square jungle, the orthodox Taoist priests are much more free. They can get married and have children, and they don't have to abide by the commandment of Quanzhen's Fifteen Theories on Chongyang Education, "You must enter the temple before becoming a monk, and be prepared for danger in times of peace".
Taoist priests in Taoist temples usually get up at about five o'clock every morning, go to the temple to clean up after washing, and then start doing morning classes at about six o'clock. Singing "Tai Shang Xuan Men Zao Jing" is similar to morning reading when we are studying. Accompanied by Yue Xian, the morning lessons sung by Taoist priests echoed in the hall for a long time.
There is a taboo in Taoism, that is, you can't burn incense, recite scriptures, worship or fast in May. Therefore, Taoist priests don't have to attend morning classes on May Day.
After the morning class, I began to fast. On the whole, I went to have breakfast. Taoist vegetarian meals are generally clear soup and thin water. Cooking noodles with white water means abstinence. Taoist priests, under the guidance of their teachers, recite the sacrificial mantra and fasting mantra before and after meals. After breakfast, I started a day's life in the duty temple. The duty temple mainly receives pilgrims and explains Taoist culture and common sense to tourists. Many tourists put their hands together when they worship at the Taoist temple. Actually, this is not right. Taoism uses the bow ceremony in traditional culture, that is, throwing hands with fists. When two hands hug, the left hand holds the right hand, and the right hand cannot hold the left hand.
