In the lower grades of primary schools, enlightenment education is carried out with a focus on cultivating a sense of intimacy and a love for China's excellent traditional culture. In the upper grades of primary schools, cognitive education is carried out with a focus on improving sensitivity to guide students to experience the richness and variety of China's excellent traditional culture. At the junior high school level, the focus is on enhancing understanding, increasing recognition of China's excellent traditional culture, and guiding students to understand the cultural traditions and basic national conditions of my country's unified multi-ethnic country. At the high school level, we focus on enhancing rational understanding to guide students to understand spiritual connotations and enhance their confidence in China's excellent traditional culture. At the university level, the focus is on improving independent learning and inquiry abilities, cultivating cultural innovation awareness, and enhancing the sense of responsibility and mission for inheriting and promoting China’s excellent traditional culture.
At the same time, we strive to achieve three "full coverages" in the teaching points and teaching tasks at each stage of school: First, full coverage of subject courses, embodying educational content into moral education, Chinese, history, and physical education , art and other major courses. Second, the teaching links are fully covered, including classroom teaching, extra-curricular teaching, family education and social education. Third, the education population is fully covered, from primary school to university, and the excellent traditional Chinese cultural education is integrated throughout.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Education pointed out that the current status of my country’s excellent traditional cultural education is not satisfactory. In specific teaching practices, some schools are oriented towards exam-oriented education and focus on educating students on knowledge points. Indoctrination simply allows students to memorize certain traditional cultural knowledge, but lacks in-depth exploration and promotion of the national spirit, moral sentiments, and humanistic qualities contained in traditional culture. This is one of the most core issues currently.
