What does Tianyuan of Go mean?

The regular chess board is square in shape, with 19 parallel lines on the book horizontally and vertically, forming 361 intersections. Among them, nine intersections are marked with big black dots to facilitate positioning. These nine black dots are called "stars" (or "star positions"). The star position in the center of the chessboard is called Tianyuan (coordinate point: K1).

"Tianyuan" symbolizes the "Polaris" set off by the stars, and it can also symbolize the most dazzling first star among the stars. In the ancient books of our country, the word "Tianyuan" has long been quoted in "Historical Records": "A king who changes his surname must be cautious at the beginning. Correct the new moon, easy to serve the color, push this Tianyuan, and follow the meaning. " Here, "Tianyuan" is understood as: anyone who is supernatural should understand the origin and beginning of everything.

Because the word "Tianyuan" has such a broad and profound meaning, later emperors were happy to make it a famous title. For example, Emperor Xuandi of the Northern Dynasty called himself "Emperor Tianyuan". Emperor Yuanrong of Japan also named the year as "Tianyuan" to show his great authority.
